🍻 Get Ready for Oktoberfest – Important Info
Hey everyone! Just a quick prep post so you know what to expect and can come fully ready for our Skool IRL Meetup + Oktoberfest 🎉 🚫 Bags: Big bags and backpacks are not allowed inside the tents. Bring only a small bag (think ~20 cm max) with your essentials. 💶 Cash is king: You cannot pay with credit card, debit card, or Apple Pay in the tent. It’s cash only. There are ATMs in the Schottenhamel tent, but lines can be long and fees high — so I highly recommend bringing enough cash with you. 🍗 Coupons: As part of our reservation, everyone has a minimum consume: ½ chicken + 1 beer (around €35 per person). - I paid this in advance and have the coupons ready for you at the table. - You can reimburse me via PayPal or Cash whatever is easier (hello@laurabuhl.com). 🍺 Drinks in the tent: - Beer is served only in 1-liter steins. Keep in mind: Oktoberfest beer is typically stronger than your regular beer. - If you’d like something lighter, order a Radler (beer mixed with lemonade) — a great way to pace yourself. - Non-alcoholic drinks are also available. - Other alcohol (rum, whiskey, cocktails, etc.) is not served in the tents. Occasionally you’ll find wine, but usually it’s beer-focused. Outside the tents, there are cocktail bars for those options. 💶 Tipping: You’ll pay your waitress directly when ordering. It’s common to round up generously or add around 10%. Many people simply round to the nearest €5 or €10 note when paying for drinks. 👗 Dress code: Dirndl, Lederhosen, or just something fun and festive — totally up to you! 🕒 Timing reminder: - 8:30 AM – Meet at my office (address will be shared in classroom). - 9:00–10:30 AM – Short session with Evelyn & me. - 11:00 AM – We’ll all head to the tent together. - 12:00–3:30 PM – Reserved tables in Schottenhamel. 🎡 After 3:30 PM: Our reserved tables end at 3:30 PM. After that, it’s open-ended: - Some of us may explore Oktoberfest together, hop on rides, or grab food outside. - Others may want to try to find space in another tent or share tables with strangers (that’s actually very common at Oktoberfest and a fun way to meet new people!). - Just keep in mind: while 3:30 PM is still relatively early, once it gets closer to 5 PM (and people come after work) it can become much harder to get into a tent, as they often close once full.
