Day 1 Video 3
Day 1 video 3: how am I supposed to clap along to the African Sarabande .. the beats all blur/ overlap into each other and are hard to differentiate thus hard to clap in a defined corresponding manner.
🚨 Day 2 of the On2 Timing Accelerator is LIVE! 🚨
The Day 2 lessons are now uploaded in the classroom inside the On2 Timing Accelerator. Remember—this is a daily course, so make sure you’re keeping up with the videos as they release. The transformation really happens when you watch the lessons, practice the exercises, and respond in the comments so we can work through the material together. I put a lot of work into these lessons to make them powerful and practical. Each day includes: • Training videos • Listening resources • Curated playlists • Rhythmic practice exercises If you follow the process, this program will seriously transform your relationship with On2 timing and musicality.🎶 🔥 Premium members get the entire accelerator included with their membership (huge discount compared to buying it separately). If you haven’t joined yet, now is the perfect time to jump in and start training with us. 😁 See you in Day 2! 💃🏽🕺🏽

Day 2 video 1: could somewhat follow/return the clap patterns but in a blind and non-sensical way. Habanero and patterns seem accessible /recognizable but Tressillo less so( just sounds random). Visual representations may help and I’m trying use the concept of the “shape of music” vs a linear visualization. I will trust the process and continue.
Musicality from scratch
Hi everyone. I’ve been “dancing salsa” for a few years now unfortunately I’ve really struggled to get a “grip” on the music including the timing. Needless to say I’m often off beat and very aware of it and so now avoid dancing. I’ve asked numerous instructors and people in the know for a methodology/ structure to understand and eventually integrate the musicality into my dance and have always been met with redundancies like “you've got to feel it” which is of no help at all. In my area people primarily dance ON1. Would understanding ON2 through this course be an inroad to learning ON1 as well. I’m quite willing to invest time and energy into this course regardless. Please advise. Thanks.
From On1 to On2: A Free Training on Salsa Timing & Musicality
This free training is your entry point into understanding On2 timing in a clear, grounded way. In this session, I walk you through: - How salsa timing works from a musician’s perspective - Why On2 is about active listening, not counting - The historical and musical context behind On2 - How dancers move from On1 to On2 naturally in social dance This training is meant to create clarity — not mastery. If On2 finally starts to make sense here, the next step is the On2 Timing Accelerator, where we take this understanding and turn it into embodied skill through guided practice, coaching, feedback, and support. 🎯 Watch this first.💃 Then, when you’re ready, continue inside the Accelerator. Drop any questions or reflections in the comments — I’m here to support you.

In my area ON1 is the predominant timing. I have lots of patterns but really struggle with musicality/timing. Everyone I ask responds with what I consider redundancies/placating like “you have to feel it” but they can’t really explain anything.. I don’t think they really understand the music. Is the pathway to realizing the music learning ON2 ( apparently it’s more congruent with the music) then to reverse engineer to ON1 if necessary. The whole ON1 thing really isn’t coming together for me. I’m willing to try anything at this point.
