Question on EMT school
So I’m trying to become an emt and idk if I should take an online class that is just for ems school (RC health services) or go to my Lone Star college instead. Or just if anyone has any tips please lmk!

I just finished EMT school at a program called Roxell EMT, and it was a nice program but it's very different from a college setting. A friend of mine went to lone star college EMT and he is way ahead of us. We weren't really hands on in our program, and the majority of the machines were broken. I definitely recommend going to lone star college route, they teach you A to Z. You will have the book knowledge and the hands on, so when you are done you are ready to work.
EMT Study Tips
Hello! I am an EMT student starting classes in a month. I have a question for anyone with their EMT certification: What do I need to know as far as anatomy and physiology? I am studying early so I do not struggle with this section later. Apparently I have been learning much more than what I will need for my classes. What will I actually learn? Also, if anyone has any suggestions for studying, or advice for when I start classes, I would appreciate it!

Honestly just he basics of anatomy and physiology like where major bones and organs in your body for example femur, liver, nothing too crazy. Since you have some time, i will definitely get a head start on medical terminology, that's is the backbone of school and ems in my opinion. Second would be knowing and memorizing vital signs, blood pressure, blood glucose level, pulse rate, respiratory rate. And as a bonus, I would print out the NREMT Patient Assessment Skill sheets and start to look over them, just to get familiar with it. You don't have to memorize the steps right now but just get familiar with it. Hope this helps
