So, a simple system could be as straightforward as a folder, a set of dividers with months on and adding each receipt to the relevant month, same for invoices if you print them. This gives you everything in a physical format, if you are paperless then do the same thing but in folders on the computer, if you scan things in or take pictures, everything goes back to the paper then!
