Night shift issue
In the last month we’ve had 3 caregivers fall asleep on night shift: two of them was there first time with our agency and they brought pillows and blankets!!! The last one is an amazing caregiver on day shift but he fell asleep last night on shift with one of our clients who’s already a bit of a high maintenance kind of client. I’ve decided to include that in part of our orientation about it being an awake shift but idk what else to do. Also, explain that they will be terminated as soon as we hear if they are asleep. Any tips?

2nd or 3rd strike situation - I think for anyone on night shift it can be a hard experience even in the Millitary you would have guys falling asleep. Honestly this would be a huge consideration in wheter someone should take narcoplepsy medication, wheter they need to have better sleep hygiene and life style choices. Is this practice where the preference that stimulants are not used. If so you need people that are already night shift adjusted. For caregivers that bring pillows and blankets thats a no no but for those really good people there may need to be a system that allows them to evolve rapidly. Another thing can be trying to set an alarm every hour n half or so. Fasting on night shift could also help.
Red flags
I met a placement agent at an event. She had approached me and said she was impressed with what I’ve been able to create with my company and was interested in partnering. Of course I said yes. Fast forward to today: we have a stand up at this skilled nursing facility at 830. I show up 815 with fresh coffee from Starbucks-2 giant containers. The place is a ghost town. I have to walk around the whole building with two things of coffee to a back door in the rain and high heels. Go to the nursing station and the stand up isn’t until 930. I call the placement agent about the confusion. She laughs it off. I ask her where she is-20 mins away. Now an hour later and she’s still not here and we are supposed to be presenting in 15 mins. She was also late on our first meeting too. I’m so beyond annoyed.

@Mariam Dawood Part of being a business owner is accepting new opportunities but also being able to make really fast choices once the data comes in. I personally believe that at the end of the day Americans are some of the hardest working and honest people in the world. That gets forgotten sometimes.
