A lot of us spend time trying to feel ready before taking action. But most of the growth seems to happen after we start. The first shoot. The first outreach email. The first client call. The first piece of content. Recently I’ve been realizing that participation creates confidence much faster than preparation does. Preparation has its place, but repetitions seem to be where the real learning happens. Curious: What’s something you got better at only because you kept showing up and doing the reps?

Just wanted to take a moment to show some appreciation to @Jan Danielewicz and everyone in this community. I’m not a full-time photographer or videographer. My background is more in atmosphere, culture, movement, hospitality, media, and community building. But one thing I’ve learned is that every craft rewards the same things: - showing up - paying attention - doing the repetitions - helping people - staying in the game long enough to improve What stands out to me here is that Jan is actually building. The free course, the feedback, the discussions, the encouragement, the accountability. That’s rare. A lot of people talk about creating value. Few people sit down and record 10 hours of material for others. So thank you for putting this together.
