Back in the pool
Decided to take a dip today. Selected Critical Swim Speed workout in my watch and off I went. I had never done this workout before but I will definitely add it in once a month perhaps to see any changes. My last real swim for my relat portion of St Anthony's sprint triathlon last April. Surprisingly enough I had my fastest 400m today. I need more swim time. I am going to try and lock in twice a week (weather permitting).

My CSS came out at 2.11.
Put it down
I have been listening in my car and today I heard the part about old photos. I came across a memory on FB of a much thinner version of myself at a race and I remembered that I thought back then that I was "fat". I am around 20+lbs heavier now and I thought how crazy I was back then to have thought that. We don't see ourselves the same way from the inside that others see us from the outside. I am trying to change my mindset that healthy/fitter doesn't always mean thin. I want to work on my strength and yes, my body composition will change a little, but I don't want to be skinny. My man told me nothing fun happens on a straight road lol 😂

A visual aid is helpful to go along with an audio file when trying to understand. Discussing an exercise verbally is great but having a print out with photos/diagrams to see while attempting the move is fantastic. At the gym listening and seeing in real time would help out a lot.
Asking You for Something
I don't love asking people for things. Ask Kim. I'd rather do the dishes than ask a favor. But I'm doing it anyway. If this group has done anything for you, if watching a bunch of people over 50 lift, show up, and not quit has moved something for you, even a little, I am asking this one thing. If you've read Not Done Yet, or you've been meaning to, here's the nudge. Share it. Text it to that person at your gym who keeps saying they are too old to gain muscle. Put it in front of whoever in your life thinks 60 is when things start ending instead of when they can start again. Marketing myself is not a strength, so I depend on readers to help me in this way. This group is free, so here is a way to help pay it forward. If you haven't bought it, you can get it via Kindle Unlimited for free, or the Kindle itself is only $2.99. That's not a huge amount. The paperback is also there, and if you prefer listening, the Audible is there too. I came back to training at 60 with a body that had been fighting psoriatic arthritis since I was 48. I'm not telling you that to impress anyone. I'm telling you because if it worked for me, banged up and stubborn as I am, it's got a decent shot of working for somebody you know. This group grows by word of mouth, or it doesn't grow at all. There's no ad budget behind it. There's just people telling other people the truth about what they found here. So tell them. Gus and I will be around either way, but I'd rather not be around alone.

Book arrived today.
Start here
New here? Do these two things and you're set. Post your intro below. Name, age, where you're starting from. Doesn't matter if that's a 5K PR or a knee that hasn't forgiven you yet. I want to know who's in this thing with me. A few things worth knowing up front. I answer posts myself; there's no team running this. This is free and staying free. If you decide you want more direct access to me down the line, that's what the paid tier is for, but nobody's pushing you toward it. Most paid newsletters sell you a content library and move on to the next subscriber. Not Done Yet works differently. When you upgrade, that's when I start paying attention. I'll answer your questions. I'll engage with your work. I'll spotlight what you're building. Everything I teach here, I do, and I do it alongside you, not from a distance. The upgrade isn't the end of our relationship. It's the start. Now go introduce yourself. I'm waiting.

@John Harris Thanks hun. It has been a while for sure. I'm aiming to gently return to the gym either this week or next. I got hurt at work last week and was cleared to return today. Lower back issues from slipping into a hole. I'm also working for Florida Road Races as their volunteer coordinator for the 5 races they have (first one this weekend). Getting back into the swing of things. Slowly but surely. I always feel a bit weird at the gym with not knowing exactly what to do or in what order. I'll get it. I did one of those inbody tests and wasn't a fan of the results so some muscle addition will help remove some of the fat component.
