Hey guys, it's 8:16 PM on a Monday. We've had some really incredible partners and providers capture videos for our data capture project. Here are some lessons learned. #1 - Anything is possible in a week. We have over 200 captures done across the world quickly. Amazing. #2 - Some people will go above and beyond. Some people will overpromise and underdeliver. This is natural, but you experience it in real time on a big project. #3 - You never know what's gonna happen. My team had to build a huge custom dashboard and basically build an entire upload portal that's custom for the project. Your ability to adapt will determine your success. Amazing. Hey everyone — quick update on the CloudPano data capture project. We officially have videos flowing in from providers around the world, and the process is working really well so far. The idea is simple: You wear an Insta360 X5 camera with a head strap, record normal daily activities, upload the raw video files, and get paid per approved routine. Examples of routines include: - Cooking dinner - Grocery unpacking - Folding laundry - Wardrobe care - Home maintenance - Painting cabinets - Indoor plant care - Watching TV - Playing games or doing family activities - Other normal daily life routines - These are things many of you are already doing. The difference is now you can get paid to capture them as part of this study. A few important notes: ✅ The head strap is required ✅ You can buy or rent the Insta360 X5 ✅ Make sure the camera is mounted correctly and not angled too far down ✅ Certain objects may need to be marked during the routine ✅ If anyone else is actively participating in the video, you need a signed consent form ✅ Uploads can be done through our portal or Google Drive ✅ A strong internet connection helps a lot with uploading Once you apply and are approved, we’ll send over the subcontractor agreement. After that, we’ll provide the payment terms and begin assigning projects through the Mango Video Track portal. Hey All, sharing my experience so far. The team has been very responsive in making sure we have all the info needed to get these captures done. A couple of things to note that might help. 1. Uploading from your phone isn't the best option. My experience was that when the screen goes dark, the upload can get interrupted since it's browser-based. You could change the settings to leave the screen on and put the phone on DND, but I'd recommend sending the file to your PC /Mac, logging in, and uploading the file there. 2. Recording for 60 minutes straight is a battery hog on the X5. Have a power bank with USB-C ready if you get down to 20%. 3. If monitoring from your phone, also plug your phone in, as the Insta360 app is also battery-intensive since you're using the display and sending data back and forth while recording. 4. You won't get the right files if you export via the app. You'll need the raw format from your camera, so connecting to your PC/Mac is the best option. I used the app, and it gave me the wrong format type. I'll have more feedback later once my first scan is approved.-

These should feel natural and unscripted — not staged or overly polished. The goal is to capture real daily routines as they would normally happen. Examples include: 🍳 Kitchen routines 🧹 Household cleaning and organization 🪴 Indoor plant care 💻 Leisure, technology, and home office activities 🎨 Indoor art and creativity 👨‍👩‍👧 Group/family routines with proper consent Required Camera Setup You’ll need an Insta360 X5 with a head-mounted setup using an Easy Clip or hat clip. Required settings include: - Freeframe mode - Single-lens - 4K resolution - 30 FPS - MaxView 170° FOV - Standard filter - Auto white balance - Horizon Lock off Don’t Let the Gear Stop You If you don’t already have the Insta360 X5, this may be a good opportunity to rent one, borrow one, or buy one temporarily on a payment plan while this project is active. If you don’t have the head strap or hat clip mentioned in the scope of work, I would buy one right away. It’s less than $10 in many cases, and it can unlock this project for you.
