Obviously you don’t ever want to unleash the power that a nuclear weapon possesses ( which is has become substantially more destructive ) however you must have noticed that even this ability doesn’t deter evil. Considering that there are other weapons ( like biological weapons,, chemical weapons) that seem to be more effective in rendering the end of life as we know it. The question is whether or not humans will ever lose its nature to kill or possess more than it needs,care less for another than itself? One way only, that is faith in Jesus Christ our lord and saviour. So until then yes we have to be prepared to defend ourselves against evil and wicked evil in this world. Myself I think that the key is to teach our species the fundamental principles that are the basis of our existence in order that we will be admitted into the universe that has been waiting and watching us.
