Calling All Volunteers!!!
Hey guys! I hope this finds you all well. Two years ago, I created my very own passion project, and today I am here to share it with you. Presenting CTDnyc: the app, website, non-profit, and podcast that is primed to change the world. CTDnyc is a mobile app connecting homeless individuals in NYC to essential resources like shelters, food banks, and healthcare. Using GPS, it provides real-time service details, operates offline, and features a multilingual interface for accessibility. Prioritizing privacy, it collects no personal data, allowing anonymous searches. More than an app, CTDnyc is also a registered nonprofit, website, and podcast, dedicated to supporting the unhoused community. Available on iOS and Android, it’s a vital tool making a real impact. Please access the following links to learn more and join the movement. If you have any questions feel free to respond to the post or email me at vvohra.ctd@gmail.com. Here are the job descriptions.... they are very fluid. AP Calc AB/BC, AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Physics 1/2/C, AP CS A, AP CS Principles. I would suggest those.

How do I diversify myself?
- Entering Junior Year - Taking Multivariable Calculus - Got into an Academy in a course teaching CISCO (will get college credit) - 4.02 unweighted GPA - I want to enter into data science Im not sure what the best way to diversify myself. I didnt join many clubs last year which I regret and I’m not taking any sports (I could def make the soccer or track team but my workload for next year might be too much). What’s the best way I should diversify myself for colleges to give me the edge? What steps should I take? I’m going to complete 100 volunteer hours this summer to qualify for an advanced diploma, I have some ideas for clubs to start, Im planning on doing data science internships and complete a certification by IBM in Data Science next summer. Would this be enough? Do I need to do more? Edit: to clarify in my school an A+ (98-100) is a 4.3, an A (93-97) is a 4, and an A- (90-92) is a 3.7

@Harshil Parupudi Ya I though unweighted GPA only went up to 4.0, but I might be wrong

@Nifemi Soyannwo same here, but still an unweighted gpa by definition is that everything is limited to 4.0 no? That's at least what a variety of google sources say, but then again should we trust the internet?
Calc 1 Frosh year
Hey Guys, I am new here an want to know how many or who are the people who have completed Calc 1 in their freshman year so I can know what to expect from Calc 1 as my first high school math class! Thanks

My school did not let me skip any math classes/grades and so I started Calc 1 in 8th/9th grade outside of school. I did a combination of Khan Academy and other programs that helped significantly. Ones reaction to Calc depends on who they are. For me personally, I did not find Calc to be very difficult, but again that is just my personal experience. You seem quite interested in Math(as it says in your profile), and so I think you will be fine. In general, if you put in the time and effort you should be able to cruise through. Good Luck!

@Shagi B My advice would be to take it step by step. You already have an interest in the subject if you want to get good at it; now you just have to work towards it. Personally, I did outside-of-school courses, khan academy, read math lectures, and watched interesting youtube videos. Your increasing success in the subject will become a byproduct of your increasing exposure and skills. I also believe that, to some extent, it is good to go step-by-step through a sort of "curriculum". Make sure that you are solid on all levels before venturing further out. My suggestion would be to find a fitting level on Khan(or some sort of program, it could be an outside-of-school class like I did) and working your way up. After that you can read lectures and watch advanced videos that employ those ideas to further your knowledge. Let me know if this helps! In terms of mathematical based competitions, I have participated and placed in a variety of local/city-wide/national/global competitions. I have also taken AP Calc BC. I am also in the process of trying to conduct mathematical-based research. I am a captain of my school's Math Team and I love to read mathematical-based lectures!
