Setting up things and trying to get used to them. Definitely more mid forward than my Sennheiser 600 HD's does anybody have any helpful setting tips they'd like to share?? What are your preferences when it comes to dialing in the software??

Congrats
Friends! The last 3 Days were so fun! Can we make is OFFICIAL?
Well, that is another great Fix-The-Mix in the books! I really enjoyed working with Jake on this song and I want to thank you all for being there. It was a GREAT time. Congrats to Rueb Scott for making a killer song for us to work on. I felt like this FTM manifested many great conversations and some really MAGIC mixing moments for us to learn from. If you haven't yet, be sure to catch the replays. I also want to say thanks for letting me share my passion with you and speak about our flagship program The Reverse Engineer. These Fix-the-Mix events are the only time I really get to share with you how deeply I feel about our community and program we are building here. I am so excited that so many of you have either joined already or are working to join soon. Listen, I know that investing in yourself can be hard but I will always encourage people to be brave when it comes to self-improvement. Life is short and so we really need to pursue our passions with fervent focus and run wildly towards the things that make us happy. If getting the skills you need to be successful is the obvious next step, don't let anything stop you from finding good education. You'll never regret this move. Many years ago, in a particularly hard time of my life, I faced some major fears (and burdening ego) and chose to invest in myself. It wasn't easy, but the singular act changed everything for me. I hope all of you can move towards that vision for yourself in 2024. If you want to chat with us about how we can help you reach your goals with music production, book a call at the link below. We will decide if it's the right time and a good fit together, and then we will game plan a way to move forward. https://go.mastering.com/post-event-ftm-book Go be great! Caleb Loveless

The best mixing tip I can give you
Here’s the best mixing tip I can give you: Progress = Work + Reflection There's no way to get better at mixing if you just watch videos and learn mixing tips. You need to actually do the work and finish hundreds of tracks if you want to become a true pro. But there's another part to the equation, and that's reflection—because work alone isn't enough. Yes, you need to do a lot of work. But if you just work away in a vacuum and you don't reflect on the work that you did a year ago, two years ago, three years ago... then you're never actually going to learn. I remember one time I set myself a challenge to finish a hundred mixes over the span of several months. When I listen back now, a lot of those mixes sound really similar because I was just churning them out. I didn't take enough time to actually listen to them, reflect, and decide how I needed to improve. In comparison, I've had single mixes that I've learned a TON from because I shared them with a bunch of people and got feedback. And I've had mixes where another mix engineer has mixed the same track and I was able to carefully compare the differences. I learned so much from those single mixes because I was able to reflect more accurately. I was able to more easily identify where my weaknesses were and where I needed to improve. So don't forget—you need to put in the work, but you also need to take time to reflect and analyze your past work. Only then can you identify how to actually improve. — I originally posted this idea as a video on our Instagram account. if you're not already following us, you can check it out here. We're starting to post a lot more frequently and have some exciting videos coming up. Have a great week, Rob
