Hey All, I am working on a video series to answer the most common questions new inventors have. I will post some here but I would LOVE YOUR HELP. What common questions do you have and/or what do you hear all the time? Here are a few I have but I would like more specific ones as well! How do I protect my idea? Many worry about theft or imitation. New inventors often ask about patents, provisional patent applications, or nondisclosure agreements to safeguard their intellectual property without breaking the bank. Do I need a prototype to start? The feasibility of turning a concept into reality is a big concern. They wonder if a working model is essential or if a sketch or description can suffice for initial steps like pitching to potential partners. How much will this cost me? Budgeting is a mystery for beginners. They want to know the costs of development, legal fees, manufacturing, and marketing—and how to manage it all on limited funds. Who do I pitch my idea to? Finding the right audience—whether it’s investors, companies, or customers—can feel daunting. New inventors often ask how to identify and approach the best targets for their invention. What if someone’s already done it? Fear of redundancy is common. They question how to research existing patents or products and whether their twist on an idea still has value. How do I turn my idea into a product? The leap from concept to tangible item stumps many. They seek guidance on design, manufacturing, and the practical steps to make their vision real. Can I do this alone, or do I need help? Solo inventors wonder if they can handle everything themselves or if they need experts like engineers, lawyers, or mentors—and where to find them. How long will it take to see results? Others?? Thanks all!

Here's a few points for a new inventor to consider: 1. Is there, or will there be a market demand for the product? 2. does it meet a "need" or a luxury? 3. What the current economic conditions for market entry, and how will that impact your launch? Good economy = money available to buy new products...Bad economy = a hard sell to get people to let go of tight funds to test something new. 4. Best methods for marketing a new product - and market entry options/best ones? 5. Average patent costs, maintenance fees? 6. Why is the product better, if something similar is currently available? 7. Does the product utilize current manufacturing capabilities, or does it require unique manufacturing and how does this impact product viability and resources required to produce the product. Will the product be a "challenge" to produce, at a price point that provides a margin for profits and investment reimbursement. 8. Does the market need "to be educated about the benefits of the product" or is this obvious? 9. What's the demographics of customers, big, small, easily accessible or not. 10. What's the cost to market, promote and sell the product? What resource available to provide this service/cost?
