I am featured today in Colin and Samir’s newsletter
I just had a career defining moment. So stoked and honored to be featured in the Colin and Samir newsletter. I worked all weekend talking with SAG to get all the information over to Hannah, their lead writer. Hopefully this is helpful and if you guys have any questions please let me know. I would love creators to realize that there is a real benefit to joining SAG and also if you want to join SAG, make sure you’re not doing anything during the strike that could jeopardize your ability to join later. Contact me at my website if you want to connect or have questions. I have room probably for 2-3 more clients, then I will be maxed out. https://www.tylerchoulaw.com https://news.thepublishpress.com/p/hollywood-strike-mean?utm_source=news.thepublishpress.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=what-does-the-hollywood-strike-mean-for-you

@Shivam Jha thanks so much!!
How to blow up your YouTube channel (this weekend only)
(If you're serious about growing your YouTube channel, you need to read this) CLICK HERE TO WATCH THIS POST INSTEAD OF READING (RECOMMENDED) 10mins on 2x speed CHAPTER 1: HUMANS ARE DELUSIONAL It’s true. Whether we like it or not, we all believe things that aren’t true. And this makes it really hard to make progress. For example, it’s impossible to make more money if your beliefs about how to make more money do not align with the way the world works. The reason for this is because your actions follow your beliefs. So if you believe you can grow your business through X, but X isn’t how you actually grow your business. Then no matter how hard you try you will be stuck. Some call these beliefs Crony Beliefs. And they explain why so many humans get stuck making little progress. Even though they keep taking action, their beliefs don’t change, so their actions remain the same, and their results stagnate. You see, the universe does not care about the way you think the world works, or the way you wish the world works. It just works the way it works. End of. Period. No arguments. And if you can’t align your beliefs with the way it actually works, then you won’t be able to operate within its boundaries to get results. CHAPTER 2: WHY YOUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL ISN’T GROWING QUICKLY When it comes to growing your YouTube channel, one of those beliefs is “to grow your YouTube channel you just need to be consistent”. If that were true, how would you explain the dozens of people in this community who have uploaded one video per week for years and still don’t have a sizeable audience? There’s nothing more frustrating than knowing the power of YouTube, but no matter how hard you try your videos don’t get the reach you think they deserve. I expand on this here and here

@Andrew Kirby you’re just amazing Andrew. Such a good guy and the guarantee will help you get more business. I’m helping somebody in this group set up their course right now and ask his part-time GC, I’ve been walking through language around the guarantees and refund and it’s helpful to get those in the fence to sign up. I’m going to sign up now that I know this refund guarantee is there. Thank you for giving the option.
35K views in 6 hours. Legal analysis of Colleen Ballinger
I have not had a viral video in 7 months when my channel grew to 20,000 within a few months. I’ve been struggling and chasing views and sub count but recently I pivoted my channel as well as my whole career to step away from Hollywood and open up my own law firm, representing creators. I wanted to take on this video to explain what I thought was happening behind the scenes with the Colleen Ballinger situation because there have been a lot of gossipy videos covering this issue but no lawyers covering it. https://youtu.be/ZtQozGMzkew It is totally wild to me that this video has taken off the way it has. It just goes to show you that you shouldn’t give up! A few months ago, I actually considered quitting my videos and my channel because it was just too hard and I just couldn’t figure it out but I kept going even though my last 10 videos have not done well. So the lesson is— don’t quit!

@Aman Lata trend jacking. Colin and Samir do it as well as Film Booth. It works but it also has to be an event that makes A LOT of people ANGRY. your videos or at least your thumbnail and title have to make the viewer FEEL something.
Top 5 Brand Deal Mistakes Creators Make
This is my first video in eight weeks as I pivot my channel towards supporting and representing creators. Would love a watch to let me know if this is helpful. In representing creators I’m realizing that a lot of creators don’t know how to negotiate their brand deals. After being a Hollywood attorney for 15 years, I’m walking away to represent and protect my fellow creators. I’m struggling with the title and thumbnail. I would love some input. If you guys could give me some high level feedback. Thank you!! https://linktw.in/rpHn8K. https://youtu.be/ELXQ2JP9X78

@Hana Ali yes for sure. The audio was off on my newest video. I was so focused on getting the content out that I didn’t really focus on the audio. Of course, now my editor has fixed it, but I am unwilling to delete it because I will lose my views. Thank you for your kind words and for watching my videos!!

@James Oli I have an editor. Thank you so much for your feedback. What do you mean? Free myself up a little bit? Can you sure specifically what you’re thinking? Since I’m an attorney, it’s hard for me to not be serious or try to be professional. Honestly, I’m not super comfortable in front of a camera, so I think I’m always just a little bit of an introvert.
Help SAVE a YT Channel: Copyright Claim Danger & Partner Program
Maybe the core here, is a need to reach Youtube Support systems, but I'll share the whole situation here with the community, to help the situation get as much help as it can get. This situation involves: - (apparently) 𝑤𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑔𝑓𝑢𝑙 copyright infringement claims - monetization issues - partnership program issues Although this is one specific situation & technically not a re: a synthesizing channel, 👇👇👇 𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐈'𝐦 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞, 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥. ☝️☝️☝️ 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: - My friend has the top channel for Persian / Iranian music karaoke - apparently with all the licenses to work with the content in this way - false copyright claims destroy this - (To my understanding) being accepted into YT partner program can fix this - Despite apparently strongly over-qualifying for the partnership program, my friend was rejected for "not having a unique product" despite using multiple pieces of technology (from his own system) including AI to create NEW sound files (based on the licenses they obtained) with the vocals removed and adding (+) karaoke-stylized lyrics & (+) high-quality background footage - Now getting these (apparently false) copyright claims is temporarily disabling the channel as he goes through the review process, and threatens potentially total removal of the channel. 😬 - This is not the first time that channel has had to deal with this! 𝑌𝑖𝑘𝑒𝑠! _________ Summoning synthesizers! 𝗜 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗿: I thank @Tyler Chou | The Creator's Attorney for being willing to review my question, so I'll throw out a plug here because that's highly appreciated. As I thought about this a little more (and wanting to move the ball quickly) I decided to post here, though, because I 𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑲 it's an issue of communications rather than legal. Maybe Tyler, you have some general insight to offer for all channels for situations like this-- 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘢 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘧𝘪𝘹 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦.

Your guess is correct, this seems to be more of a YouTube communications issue and. Of a legal issue. Usually if someone uses a video clip or music in their videos, my advice is for them to just edit it down or take it out and usually that copyright claim will go away. I don’t know how big your friends channel is, but do they have a YouTube representative that they are connected to?

Your friend can go to twitter and tweet @youtube and they sometimes respond. Or go to LinkedIn and find the YouTube reps who manage creators.

As a creator myself, I represent creators & negotiate their brand deals. I’ve been a lawyer in Hollywood for 15yrs+ but YouTube is the new Hollywood.
