Introduce Yourselves!
Welcome! My name is Shilo and I am so happy to build this community with you. I have been spinning for more than 15 years and learn much of what I know the hard way - on my own. My hope in bringing us together I can share what I have learned and help spinners elevate their skills. As a community, we have so much knowledge. I can't wait to get to know everyone and level up our handspun. 🧶 Tell us about yourselves 🧶 Who taught you to spin? 🧶 What spinning challenges do you want to overcome?

Hello! I've been spinning since around 2019. I'm self taught. I was interested and dabbled a bit with a homeschool project with the kids and homemade drop spindles back in 2009 or so. I rented a wheel at that time for an afternoon and spun some mohair, then had not touched fiber until I moved to Missouri and got sheep. I've been inconsistent the past few years due to spinal and hip joint issues but I'm now at a better place to spin nearly every day, as life allows. I have a kromski prelude spinning wheel. I don't knit or crochet so my yarn just sits. I have local craft group ladies occasionally buys my yarn and I put some in a friend's booth last month. I'm still not confident that my spinning is good enough to be used. I have a severe wool hoarding issue as well. The local Amish throws their wool away so I have been found to occasionally fill my trunk with wool they have sheared. 😂
