Vintage Nautica jacket - duck down
Right, I have had this item for a year now…. I’ve tried to sell it cheap due to the stain and wear and have had lots of watchers/ favourites but no buyers. How much is it worth if I tried to sell again like it is? How much would it be worth if I took a little time to take it to the dry cleaners and came out nice? To be honest, I just want it gone now, i got it off whatnot, got to the stream late and didn’t notice the stain until I rewatched the little clip once I bought it etc.

@Ewan Macdonald Champion itself, no. I think it has to be specific stuff like vintage or Y2K, or the reverse weave stuff. The only Champion i've sold is a Supreme x Champion collab reverse weave hoodie, those are generally higher quality, but i think any of the collab stuff is worth looking into.
Vinted promoted listings and bump.
Following on from the q & a this afternoon (just been listening to the replay) how many Vinted sellers bump or promote and do you think it’s worthwhile ? For me I do promote most weeks , I tried not doing it for a while and found my older items were not getting any traction whereas when I promote I seem to get much more. Bumping - I bump higher end items with a lot of likes and views after a few days on a Friday afternoon for 3 days and I get a lot of success from that. I don’t bother with items with no views etc. I would more likely delist and relist them. I’ve done a poll but forgot to add a both option not sure if admin can add that ? Plus I meant showcase and not promote . You have to forgive me I’m getting old lol

I've promoted a couple of times recently just to at least get some insights on traffic and engagement and see if it offered any valuable insights on my store, items i sell etc. I think i have had a couple more sales, esp on older inventory that had dropped off the feed, i can only assume the promo helped push some of my listings onto peoples searches. Going to try again this weekend. 🙂
Hi, great to be here!
Hi everyone, I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly. I’m Trevor, although I usually go by TJ. I’ve been reselling for a couple of years now. I started out sourcing and selling North Face on Vinted and have gradually moved into a broader mix of modern and vintage outerwear, Japanese streetwear, Y2K, trainers and other branded or unusual pieces. I currently sell mainly through eBay and Vinted, with some items going onto Depop as well. I joined the group a couple of weeks ago but have been fairly quiet so far. I’ve been using this slower period to work on the business behind the scenes - tightening up my sourcing, improving my listing and inventory processes, reviewing older stock and getting properly prepared for Q4. Sales have been unusually slow and inconsistent recently, so it’s been reassuring to hear from other sellers that I’m not the only one experiencing it. At the same time, I want to understand what’s genuinely seasonal and what I could be doing differently or better within my own business. I’m looking forward to joining the group calls, learning from Luke, Simon and everyone here, and getting more involved in the community over the coming weeks. It’ll be great to connect with you all.
New laptop
Hi advice needed please . I do all my listing's on ebay and vinted on my phone but its time to get a laptop. I will mostly to do everything all my listing's and amendments and store photos on it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on what I need to ask for when buying. Thanks in advance Louise

I recently got a refurbished HP X360 Touchscreen from Amazon for about £350. Really good condition, only a few scratches on the bottom. There are better and newer models if you want to spend more, but this came with 32gb Ram, doubles as a tablet as well.

Hi all — I joined because I’m trying to understand how much of my current slowdown is caused by wider market conditions and how much is coming from my own stock, pricing or business decisions. I completed an eBay coaching cohort in January and learned more about listings, pricing, promotion and managing the store. Sales initially improved and I began getting a reasonably steady flow. I then built my inventory around products I could source consistently from Vinted: trainers, BAPE, Off-White, Evisu, Maharishi, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro, Alpha Industries, Japanese streetwear and bulky outerwear. I researched sold prices and sell-through before buying, but many items have still moved much more slowly than expected. Since around April, my eBay sales have dropped sharply. I wasn’t listing much new stock for a period while trying to organise the business, but I continued reviewing prices, ending and selling similar, improving titles and relisting older items. The sales never properly recovered. I’ve since seen a lot of other established sellers reporting a similar slowdown, so I’m struggling to separate: - a wider eBay or seasonal slowdown; - my relatively small store size; - higher prices and COGS; - slower, more specialist inventory; - inconsistent listing activity; - or something else in my execution. - Vinted has also restricted or banned me several times over legitimate items being flagged as counterfeit. That leaves me worried about relying on it for either sourcing or sales while eBay is performing so poorly. I’m now considering several directions: changing my sourcing mix using Jamie’s brand and model-level approach, looking at lower-COGS sourcing such as wholesale or physical sourcing, testing faster-moving categories such as electronics, or temporarily focusing on clearing and reorganising my existing stock. Given this position, what would you examine first to identify the real bottleneck? Would you recommend that I: 1. keep pushing eBay and rebuild consistent listing activity; 2. change the categories and stock I source; 3. reduce prices and liquidate slower inventory; 4. explore Vinted Pro or other platforms; 5. pause sourcing while I audit the store properly?
