Confirmation Bias
Confirmation bias isn't just believing every crow is a message from the universe. It can work the other way too. · If you believe you're not intuitive, you may dismiss intuitive hits as coincidence. · If you believe you can't feel energy, you may ignore subtle sensations. · If you believe your magick doesn't work, you may overlook results that don't look exactly like you expected. Healthy skepticism means questioning the things you desperately want to believe. But it also means questioning the things you've already decided you can't do.

@Amy Wilhelm True - if more people understood this and could recognize it in themselves, there would be much more magick in the world.

@Amy Wilhelm I agree completely! I got my first job in 1980 and up until 2012 every job I had literally fell into my lap. The company I was working for closed the department I was in. It took me months to find a job and it ended up not being a good fit. After that, it went back to jobs falling in my lap. Which also weren't a good fit. Then I decided to start a business and it was successful for about 8 years until I grew so overwhelmingly bored with it, I was putting in little to no effort. At the start of this year I decided to lean in to my community and make this my business. At this point, I think I unwittingly carried forward that not a good fit background noise because things have been HARD hard lately, but it is all things I love to do. I need to clear out the cobwebs. Maybe we need to jump on a call and you can give me the most supportive of bitch slaps?

Tracking Your Magick
The next time something happens that makes you wonder, "Was that magick?" don't rush to answer the question. Write it down. Record: - What happened? - What were you doing beforehand? - What did you notice physically or emotionally? - What did you think it meant at the time? - What happened afterward? Then keep going. One strange experience tells you very little. Ten similar experiences? Now you've got a pattern worth investigating. You don't have to decide immediately what something means. Sometimes the best thing you can do is gather another data point.

Evaluate Your Magick
When you're uncertain about a magical practice, try treating it like an experiment. Do the practice. Record what happens. Repeat it. Change one thing. Try again. Look for patterns. Pay attention to both successes and failures. You don't need to prove anything to anyone. You're trying to learn how your practice works. Magical mastery isn't memorizing the correct answers. It's becoming very good at asking useful questions.

@Kelly Griffin Yes, that can definitely be an issue. Our brains respond to the stories we tell ourselves. I think the first step is to pay attention. Start noticing the magick that already exists in your life. Go for a walk and see if any signs appear. Notice when your intuition turns out to be right. Once you attune to the fact that magick exists in your life, it becomes easier to see when your intention comes into being.

Is it a sign?
A couple of days ago it was really dark and gloomy out and raining on and off. At one point there was some thunder. It started pretty low but rose dramatically to the point of the windows rattling and I could feel the floor shaking below my feet at the height of it. It also went on and on - at least 40+ seconds. I have never heard anything like like it. I even looked online to see if there had been some sort of explosion nearby, but I couldn't find anything. Well, you know ya girl - I started trying to figure out what kind of message I was supposed to be paying attention to with this very unusual event. I mulled on it for two days. Then earlier this afternoon I put it together. This weekend is the Air and Water show here. It was the Blue Angels in their fighter planes rehearsing. 🤣✈️

Can I take a message?
So lately a couple things have been happening to me - a shiver keeps going up my spine and my right ear is either blocked or having really bad tinnitus. The shiver thing used to happen all the time and then it stopped and hasn't happened for years. It is happening several times a day lately. It's actually a satisfying feeling, like the relief you feel after you sneeze. I have had tinnitus for as long as I can remember, but this is SO loud. I know there are messages wanting to come through, but not sure what they are yet.
