July 2026 Community Launch
This community launched in July 2026, which makes you a founding member. That comes with real advantages: direct access to me while the group is small, a voice in what trainings I build next, and first access to opportunities I'll only open to this community. The people who join in the early days are the ones I'll know by name. Welcome to my next start up! You will be well loved and encouraged here.🌷

One small thing that wins over affluent families
When a private pay family is choosing between agencies, they're rarely comparing services alone — they're comparing how each agency made them FEEL! Here's a small one that costs nothing: answer the phone like a five-star hotel, not a dispatch office. "Thank you for calling [Agency], this is Traci— how may I help you?" Warm, unhurried, no long hold music on the first call. Properly GREET them. Then, if you must place them on hold to connect them to the right person politely let them know and make it as brief as possible. Affluent clients notice tiny customer service details before they ever meet you or a caregiver. The phone is your hotel lobby. And, everyone wants greeted with a warm friendly smile in their voice. What's a small touch your agency uses that clients comment on?

One of the things we did was change our welcome message when they called to something special. For example we may say, "It's a beautiful day at Homecare By Design how can I help you today?" Or we may say, "It's a lovely day at Homecare By Design" how can I help you today?." This was a nice surprise for an often weary traveler who was deep into the stress of finding care solutions for the parent or loved one. It set the tone right away that they found a place that felt like "home". And when you are the staff members saying and hearing this over and over everyday it brightens the mood of the office too. Kind words matter.🌷
What's your biggest bottleneck to growth right now?
If you could wave a magic wand and fix ONE thing in your agency tomorrow, what would it be? ➤ Finding more private pay clients ➤ Recruiting and keeping caregivers ➤ Referral sources that actually refer ➤ Scheduling chaos ➤ Something else entirely Drop yours below — and if you see someone struggling with something you've solved, share what worked. That's what this community is for. We are all here to help each other succeed.

The biggest bottleneck I see in agencies is the scheduling chaos & it was the one I struggled with the most when I owned my agency until I learned the skills to fix it. I actually hired an HR Expert who was also a Behavioral Psychologist to help me understand the the driving force behind our chronic caregiver turnover. She has worked for International well known companies and I was fortunate enough to find her when she first started her own consulting practice. It was the turning point for my company and for me personally. Tony Robbins told us at a business seminar that our businesses would never grow beyond the psychology of the business owner. That both was an ouch and an exciting leader's charge for me to know that. if I changed, so would my company's problems. And they did. Thank you Tony Robbins! We often look for more clients or recruiting to solve the problem. Those are important but OPTMIZING your schedules so caregivers GET THEIR DEEPER NEEDS for stability and safety met are the real game changer that allows everything else to start working more efficiently. Move that one bottleneck and see a whole new world open up. It doesn't have to be this hard. I promise!
What made you get into home care/senior care?
Almost nobody ends up in this industry by accident. There's usually a story — a grandparent, a career change, a moment where you saw care done badly and knew you could do it better. I'll share mine in the comments. What's yours?

I started working in a nursing home when I was 18 years old. It was my first witness to the poor care of the elderly. I was SHOCKED! I could not imagine my grandma or my parents living in such a way . I decided to become an RN, thinking that would change the system. And to a degree it did. Ever good nurse and caregiver MATTERS! For a while I worked in home health care as a visiting nurse, which I greatly enjoyed. But I still had a yearning to provide more options for seniors. I felt they were being left out after serving in wars, sacrificing for our country and ultimately building it. Assisted Living was just starting up and I helped open the first one in our community as the Clinical Director overseeing their intermal homecare and I loved it. Soon, the building was full and I was asked to open another new Assisted Living as the ED. I loved it too! I could really see seniors flourishing! My heart was filled with joy! Once that building was full a CCRC, University Place, contacted me and asked me to come work for them as their Sales and Marketing Director. It was intimidating and exhilarating. I loved it too. It too was a dream come true! But once the building was full I felt my job complete. I went on to open 2 private duty home care agencies and ultimately creating my own hybrid model I called Homecare By Design "A Senior Living Community Without Walls" combing all I knew from the thousands of families I worked with and creating something exactly what they told me THEY DREAMED OF! To stay home and still have access to a community. Thus, our 6,000 sf Clubhouse was born! After selling HBD in 2021, I now consult & coach other organizations teaching them my best practices, so they too can improve the lives of the seniors they love and build agencies and communities around WHAT SENIORS WANT & FAMILIES NEED, all while making it joyful and fun for them & the staff, so they too can enjoy every day of their purpose driven work that they can love and feel proud of.
Welcome! Start Here
Welcome to the Home Care Growth Community — I'm delighted you are here! This community exists to help home care and home health agency owners & leaders grow personally & professionally. Home care leadership is challenging and can be lonely. Now you have friends! Together we will grow more private pay clients, grow stronger cultures, invest in ways that caregivers want to stay, and built the kind of influence & skills that makes affluent families and referral sources seek YOU out! I have worked in executive leadership positions in high-end assisted living, senior living communities (CCRC) and owned 2 private pay home care agencies. I have also been a caregiver and I am a RN. I understand details in this industry that I want to share with everyone to build a stronger continuum of care so seniors can count on us when they need us the most. I need YOU strong to do that. I will teach you some wonderful life coaching skills that will transform your heart, your mind, your relationships and your team. Let's do this & make it fun in the process! Here's how to get the most out of this community: ➤ Introduce yourself below. Tell us your name, where your agency is located, how long you've been in business, and the #1 thing you're working to improve right now. (This matters — the connections you make here may end up being as valuable as the info & trainings.) ➤ Check out the Classroom. I'll be adding trainings on private pay growth, employee engagement, culture building, working with referral sources, and more. ➤ Jump into the conversation. Ask questions, share wins, share struggles. Nobody understands this business like other people living it. A little more about me: I'm the Home Care Growth Coach, and I've spent my career in senior care learning what separates the agencies that thrive from the ones that stay stuck. My philosophy is simple — when you take exceptional care of your people, they take exceptional care of your clients, and that takes care of you. It's time to get your PASSION back and enjoy you work again!
