I appreciate you being here, my dude.
Perfection
I just had an interesting conversation about a project I was working on with a great friend. I was saying that I wanted to add some guitar and planned on asking someone I knew. He asked if I looked 👀 into my Kontakt library and we started dissecting it and we both agreed that even though we could make them pass….however they are too perfect which makes it unrealistic…..but the real human input is the true perfection because of the subtle imperfections. So in my eyes human perfection is the truest perfection because of their subtle imperfections!!! What do you all think!!!! 🤔

I couldn't agree more with the statement. Humans operate off frequency and vibrations, so it's never the same. That's what makes it beautiful. When we capture that one that just sits in its own time and space, derived from anything else, it's that one copy that lives on. It's like wearing the same outfit forever, because if you go perform live, it will never be the same as that. I totally agree. That's what makes humans beautiful because there's beauty in the flaws.
Drop your intro — who's behind the board?
I'll go first. I'm TouchTone DSG — 20+ years behind the console. Hybrid studio running Neve 5059 Satellite, SSL Fusion, FATSO, Lynx Aurora N, MPC Live II, and Ableton. I came up on boom bap, fell in love with anime/LoFi remixes, and I geek out over signal flow and compression topologies more than any normal person should. Right now I'm building an AI-powered mixing assistant trained on everything I've learned in 20 years of sessions. You'll see that journey documented here first. Your turn: 🎛️ What's your name / producer tag? 🎧 What's your setup — DAW, gear, anything you're working with? 🔥 What are you working on right now? 🎯 What's the one thing you want to get better at? Don't overthink it. Just drop in and say what's up. This is the room where nobody judges your setup — we just care that you're putting in the work.

Classic, piece I love to hear it, man. Thank you for joining. I look forward to collaborating and hearing what you got.
Introduction
Greetings! Michael James here… I’m looking forward to participating in this group. For context, here’s some background. Against the odds, I’ve been blessed to do my favorite activity for a living: make music with people I love. Brief history: homeless emancipated minor at 14, full scholarship to UCLA, got first record deal at 19 while still homeless, produced first major label album at 26, married the love of my life at 29, became Head of A&R and staff producer at Warner Music Discovery at 32, returned to freelance work a couple years later. I was surrounded by people who recognized my talent and drive, and without their support I might’ve faded into obscurity or starvation. Instead I’m currently 45 years into a career in which I’ve thrived. I do what I can to pay it forward by dropping knowledge when it is requested. Hit me up if you want to pick my brain about anything. Although my private mix room is stocked with all my favorite equipment from over the years, I’m much more interested in squeezing emotion out of music than I am in playing with gear. Don’t get me wrong – I like having good equipment and knowing how to use it, but at the end of the day I don’t care about impressing my Engineer friends as much as I care about making a listener FEEL something. Other fun facts: I was a professional bicycle racer. I love the outdoors. Although not religious, I’m deeply spiritual. I endorse Tom Anderson Guitars, Mesa Boogie amplifiers, Dangerous Music, Manley Labs, etc. In the 1990s I developed a bunch of signature algorithms and presets for Eventide, Lexicon and TC Electronic. I was at the forefront of mixing Dolby Atmos for music, and my 2021 album titled Shelter In Place was the first one ever distributed by Sony/Orchard. Any questions? Let’s teach each other some new stuff!

I think this is an absolutely incredible story, and thank you for sharing. To know that you developed some algorithms on pieces that I absolutely love is not surprising. You're a Jedi. I look forward to sharing what I'm working on and also collaborating with you here in the group.

I sometimes feel like they are losing their minds over there 👉🏽 at Apple 🍎…smh 🤦🏽‍♂️!!! All they needed to do was drop the price and it could have possibly made it more appealing…. I like being able to add additional drives internally so I don’t have to have a bunch of external hard drives sitting everywhere and taking up usb and tb ports as well as electrical sockets!!! To drop it altogether was the easy way out…. Now I have to re-invest into another mac …. It’s the price of this life!!!

Tell me about it, brotha. I already know that's how they squeeze the dollars out of you.
