🌑 New Moon, New Beginning • Ramadan Kareem 🌙
🌑 Three weeks of silence. I disappeared. Work and study overwhelmed me. I forgot that this practice isn't about productivity; it's about presence. I'm not apologizing. The moon doesn't apologize for going dark. 🌙 Ramadan Kareem to those beginning their sacred month of fasting and reflection. How beautiful that this new moon coincides with Ramadan, a time when millions of people worldwide commit to discipline, purification, and beginning again with each dawn. A month dedicated to the practice of presence, surrender, and returning to what matters. Islam understands something profound: cycles of renewal are sacred. If you've: • Started meditating and stopped • Set January intentions that faded by mid-month • Joined this community then drifted away • Felt the pull of practice, then felt resistance win You're not broken. You're human. You're cycling. Osho said something powerful to his disciples who failed at their practice: "Don't feel guilty. That guilt becomes a greater burden than the failure itself. Instead, feel grateful you noticed. Feel grateful you're here again. That awareness, that return — that is the real practice." 🌑 This New Moon: Begin Again Not with grand commitments. Just this: Can you show up right now with a pure heart and a clear mind? Not tomorrow's heart. Not yesterday's mind. Just this one. Let go of: Guilt about what you didn't do Shame about who you haven't been Fear that you'll fail again Arrive as you are — perfectly imperfect — and simply begin. 3-Minute Practice (Optional) Sit tonight or tomorrow. Say this (out loud or silently): "I welcome my failures as teachers. I release guilt as unnecessary weight. I begin again, not because I have to, but because I can. This moon, this breath, this moment — enough." You don't have to report back. You don't have to prove anything. The moon is new. So are you. Whether you're fasting, meditating, or simply breathing through another day — may this lunar cycle bring you closer to your truest self.

@Waleed Sultan shukran dear Waleed. Blessings to you and your fam. 🙏🏼❤️
🌙 Good Deeds in Dark Times • Ramadan Kareem
Abdul Aziz's family: €123 of €3,000. The Waleed family: Starting from zero. Both families in Gaza. Both foundation members of La StΩa. Both need support this Ramadan. 324 people saw Abdul Aziz's campaign. Only a handful gave. Let's not repeat that pattern. The Problem With "Someone Else Will Help" Everyone assumes others will donate. So no one does. This is how families in Gaza get left behind — not from cruelty, but from assumption. Abdul Aziz got 4% of what his family needs. The Waleed family hasn't received much yet. This Ramadan, we can change that. 🙏🏾 What Ramadan Teaches About Action Sadaqah — voluntary charity given without expectation of return. The essence isn't the amount. It's the act itself. €1. €5. €10. The amount matters less than breaking the cycle of assuming someone else will act. During this sacred month, millions fast and pray. But charity without action is incomplete. Your Practice Today 🏘️ For Abdul Aziz's family → Search his campaign on Chuffed 🏘️ For Waleed family → Search "freewaleedfamily" on Chuffed If you can give anything — even €1 to one or both — do it now. If you genuinely can't give money, share this. Tag someone who might contribute. Action breaks the paralysis of "someone else will handle it." 🏛️ Why This Matters for La StΩa Our practice isn't just about sitting on cushions. The Stoics spoke of justice as a cardinal virtue. The Buddhists teach karuna (compassion in action). The Vedic texts remind us: "Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu" — May all beings be happy and free. Meditation without action is spiritual bypassing. Gaza needs more than our prayers and good intentions. It needs tangible support this Ramadan. Three Things You Can Do Right Now 1️⃣ Give €1-10 to Abdul Aziz and/or the Waleed family on Chuffed 2️⃣ Share this post or the campaigns in your circles 3️⃣ Challenge one friend to match your donation ⌛ Don't wait for the "right moment." This is it. Two families. One sacred month. Countless chances to act. But only if we stop assuming someone else will do it.

Fri 23 Jan 🌒 Habits Rebuilding
Crescent Moon | 23 Jan "The second half of a man's life is made up of nothing but the habits he accumulated during the first half." Dostoevsky wrote that. I read it 10 years ago. Ignored it. Kept accumulating habits like they didn't count. Now I'm 43. And I see it everywhere. The way I interrupt people? Started at 25. The way I scroll when anxious? Started at 30. The way I avoid conflict? Started at 15. I'm not living my life. I'm replaying my habits. The Stoics called this: ἀπροαίρετος - aproairetos. Acting without choice. You think you're deciding. But you're just running the same program you installed years ago. Dostoevsky knew: Self-awareness isn't knowing who you are. It's seeing which version of your past self is driving today. Marcus Aurelius: "You have power over your mind, not outside events." But first, you need to see that most of your "mind" is just old habits on autopilot. What's one habit you accumulated in the first half of your life that's running the second half? One habit. That's it. 👇 I'll read every single one. Imperfect. Aware. Choosing. 🌒🦚

@Nigel Walker Fair enough. Nice you’re aware, that’s first step.
17 Jan Sat 🌑 Almost New Moon
When was the last time you let silence finish its sentence? 🛸I was tuning my handpan last month. Hit it once to check the note. And instead of hitting it again immediately, I stopped. I waited. Listening. Till the sound completely dissolved into silence. That's when I heard it - not the note, but what came after. That gap. That stillness. Someone shared this with me later: "Ring once → Stay still → Listen till silence → Don't move." 🕉️ The Agamas teach: नाद योग - Nada Yoga. The yoga of sound. But here's what they don't tell you: The sound doesn't awaken presence. It quiets you so presence becomes possible. The sound empties you. 🔇 We do this backwards in life: Someone speaks. We interrupt before they finish. Someone hurts us. We react before the pain settles. Something happens. We move before the lesson lands. We never wait for silence. 🧠 The Agamas say: A restless mind cannot perceive what is already present. That which is everywhere doesn't need to be called. So why the sound? To interrupt वृत्ति - vrtti. The continuous movement of thought. When the sound stops, and you stay still, that gap is receptivity. That stillness is presence. Your turn: What's one thing you reacted to this week before letting the silence finish? One sentence. That's it. I'll read every single one. 👇 Imperfect. Still. Listening. 🌑🦚

Sat 10 Jan 🌗 Caring
🌗 Last Quarter | 50% | 10.01.2026 What's the last time someone asked you how you slept? Not "how's it going?" Not "what's up?" How. You. Slept. I noticed this last week. My friend from Gaza texted me at 7am: "¿Did you sleep well?" 🌅 Did you sleep well? That's it. No agenda. No favor coming. Just care. 🤔 And I realized: nobody asks me that. Ever. Everyone asks "how's work?" "how's the project?" "how's life?" Nobody asks about my sleep. The Greeks had a word for this kind of friendship: Φιλία - Philia. Not the friendship of convenience. Not networking. The friendship that notices you're tired before you say it. Aristotle: "A friend is another self." Another self knows you need rest before you need advice. 🏛️The Stoics knew: Real care is in the details. Marcus Aurelius didn't ask his friends about their victories. He asked if they were eating. If they were resting. Not because it's polite. Because it matters. Your turn: When's the last time someone asked you about your sleep, your rest, your body - not your productivity? One sentence. That's it. And if nobody has... I'm asking now: How did you sleep last night? I'll read every response. 👇 Imperfect. Tired. Caring. 🌗🦚
