Working on some concepts and lessons for Black History month! Who are some figures or tough questions/concepts you want your student/child to learn about? So far I have two early elementary lessons for Ruby Bridges and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. I'll love to add more. Also I'll love some students to teach to during the class. Please let me know if interested!
Annie Turnbo Malone, Anna Murray Douglass, Adam Clayton Powell Jr, Hattie McDaniel, and Bessie Coleman are some of the less studied figures. Some concepts they should study in early elementary are: 1. The origin of Black History Month aka Nigro Week 2. The "I Have a Dream" speech by Dr. King 3. The history of the Black Cowboy 4. Black Wall Street in Tulsa, OK and the 1921 attack 5. Buffalo Soldiers I would love for my children to attend your class.
