Recently, a friend began to text me with recognisable Chat GPT text... At first, I made excuses for her... maybe she just really was that busy? But seriously, what on earth?! And then, I felt hurt, and offended. Why would she even message me if she wasn't using her real voice? I didn't know what was her, and what was not. I felt so sad from the loss of authenticity in our relationship. Trust was broken. The relationship was broken, too. I'm not anti-AI. There are really helpful ways to use Chat GPT... (I love to use AI for help doing techy things, and writing form letters!) But when we outsource our creativity to AI, something vital is lost - the heart, the soul, the energy that is vital to creativity that is here to change the world. And when you use Chat GPT to comment, you're outsourcing your voice. You are giving away the opportunity to develop real, authentic relationships. You are giving away your self-trust. I know some people worry about their ability to spell, or use correct grammar, but I'm here for the typos. I'm an editor - but I don't believe in editing until the 2nd or 3rd draft. And I don't believe in editing your voice on social media! Bring your typos and imperfections - bring your authenticity! I'm here for the humanity! What are your thoughts?!
