Fav Band You Can't See live
What's a favorite band that you weren't able to see live? There has to be some rules on this one, so here we go: - You must have been able to see them at some point, but didn't, for whatever reason - There's no likely way for you to see them live in the future, for whatever reason For me, there was a chance I could have seen Concrete Blonde play in New Mexico, but I only found out about the concert the day before, and there was no way I would have been able to make it up to the show never mind getting tickets. Also for me, there's bands I thought I'd never see which I've now seen four or five times, and bands that felt like they were right there which I never caught.

In 2011 Prince did a residency in LA and played like a gazillion shows and I remember thinking to myself “I should probably try to go to one of these”. I never did and have been kicking myself ever since. Granted, I wasn’t AS big a Prince fan then as I am now, but still. Kicking myself.
Listening Habits
Curious how people are actually listening right now. I play music for people in a room, in a box, sometimes in my own home. When you put on new music, are you Walking? Driving? Cooking? Lying on the floor?? At work with one earbud in. There’s no wrong answer. Just interested in the habits.

When working from home, I have the pleasure of having KEXP on all day long. And to make things even better, so does a close friend of mine and we frequently text each other screenshots of songs from the app throughout the day, just because. In the evenings and weekends it’s mostly vinyl. In the car a mix of KEXP (mostly), NTS, Aquarium Drunkard, CDs, and Henry Rollins show on kcrw. And then my running playlist for runs (I’ve been meaning to run to the Runcast though!). Come to think of it, music is constantly on all the time and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Oh and lastly, I just recently got a Walkman and it’s a whole thing and I love it.

@Sarah Luczyk love the weekend new album listening tradition! It’s so fun to make an “event” of the first listen of a new album.
Record player
. I need to upgrade my record player. I have a basic Victrola that is skipping with my new record club albums. Looking for recommendations for a new one…thinking $200 range.

Hi Amy! That’s awesome that you’re looking to upgrade. In that range, would highly recommend checking out U-turn Audio. Their least expensive model is around 250 I believe and they make a solid turntable in that range. Also, you can’t go wrong with any Audio Technica in the 200-300 range. Either of those will be a nice upgrade from your current turntable
