Your Engagement Didn’t Drop. Your Identity Shifted.
Let me tell you a story of what happened when my engagement dropped after 2022. This didn't happen because the algorithm hated me or because I “fell off.” It happened because I shifted from speaking about strictly metaphysics into speaking & teaching about building a business. And when I made that shift, most of my audience didn’t follow. Even my own daughter noticed. She told me my emails didn’t “hit” the same. My click rate in my emails dropped, my website visitors dropped. My social media engagement dropped. But here’s what I understood (eventually).... When you shift identities, the external world has to reorganize itself. So If your identity isn’t fully anchored yet, you might interpret that reorganization as rejection. And you'll likely go into a nervous system freeze. 🥶 You might start questioning your pricing, your niche, your messaging and the platform as a whole. But what’s really happening is 👉 you are in the middle of identity reconstruction. Because YOU changed. Your audience didn't change. And your evolution is beautiful. Now here's where it gets tricky..... if you don’t stabilize that identity internally, you’ll wait for some type of external proof that you are in the NEW IDENTITY before you make your next move. Meaning, if you are not getting the engagement (which APPEARS like external validation) you will just stay stuck between the old identity and new one..... again, this is a nervous system freeze 🥶 And it's happening because you're waiting for external validation. That’s why some people sit for years with very little movement. They are waiting for the external world to acknowledge that they shifted identities. When that happened to me?.... I did not wait. I went to another platform (Tiktok). I planned events that anchored me in the new identity and let my vibration gather the people. I hosted my first MAJOR business centered event where I bought in 2 additional speakers. At this point, I am not just a speaker. I am an event host who puts other speakers on the stage with me. (FYI I still did not see myself as this at the time)
