So with the scoresheets that I used in the tournaments, how do I utilise them to my advantage because I don't know how to use them other than putting them into lichess and looking at the eval bar. So what do I do?
Play through your moves first without the eval bar on to see if you can spot anything you might have missed first time round. I understand it’s easier said than done because this is something I also struggle with.
Genuine question: How do you guys analyse your games and learn from your mistakes properly? If you are learning a new opening, what is the best tips to best adapt and master it? Your thoughts please 🙏 Thanks
I’ve seen a couple chess YouTubers advise that you should analyse without the computer at first. Hanging Pawns has a good video on it. As for openings I personally use a website /app called Chessbook.com
What is an opening that you really don't like to play against, and why? I know for me, I used to really hate going against the hippo. I was so uncomfortable trying to navigate those extremely closed positions out of the opening.
Hello to everyone joining! Please join the discussion by letting us know a bit about yourself and what your goal is with chess currently - are you looking to play your first OTB tournament?
I cant envision myself playing over the board any time soon if ever. I hang around the 600s in chess.com blitz and my rapid is currently in the 800s, i did cross to the 900s briefly. I'm certain I know the areas I need to improve, biggest one is blundering my major pieces less. I think both my middle games and end games are very hit and miss. I'm usually very happy with my openings though perhaps i focus on this area too much, but we all love openings right?
