Yes. But I'm more interested in how to monetise a channel and community.
Why I've been quiet lately (and FOMO)
What's up everyone! I know it's been quiet around here lately. I haven't been posting much or uploading on YouTube, I probably won't be for the next few weeks. I'm working on something really exciting right now that I think is really going to help those of you looking to start your location independent businesses. I can't share all the details yet, but wanted to share some thoughts related to what I'm working on... I often talk to aspiring nomads who are torn between different business ideas they could pursue remotely. With so many possibilities, it's tempting to bounce around from idea to idea. But here's the key... Commitment is your greatest ally. If you want to successfully build a location independent business, you need to choose one idea and fully commit to it. It doesn't really matter what idea you pick in the end. What matters is that you focus on one idea and stick with it. Like your mother probably told you, no matter what you do in life there is always someone or something bigger and better than you. It amazes me how budding entrepreneurs seem to think this simple ethos doesn't apply to business. Like somehow, if they wait long enough, the one idea that will propel them to the top of the ladder will magically appear on their lap... It's like not taking up running because you're waiting for the day when you will be able to outrun Usain Bolt. This is so out of touch with reality and if you applied this logic to any other part of your life, I think you'd agree that it'd be borderline insanity. Could you miss out on an opportunity that would have made you more money? Yes!!! In fact, the answer is almost certainly. Yes!!! But what's the alternative? Because I can tell you now... If you don’t focus on something there is one big certainty. That is... You'll end up with absolutely fucking nothing. There will always be new opportunities that seem more exciting. And for those of you who do nothing but fence sit. I really hope that this is the kick up the arse that you needed.

This was an inspiring read. I'm someone whose already building something, but constantly gets distracted by other shiny objects. Would love to hear more about your journey (and struggles) in digital marketing.
Convincing your boss to let you work remotely
Have any of you convinced your boss to let you work remotely? I'm interested in hearing your stories. If you're still trying, consider giving them the books "Rework" and "Remote: Office Not Required". They provide solid arguments for remote work's benefits. "Rework" challenges traditional business models and "Remote" addresses concerns around remote work, showing its advantages. Let us know how you made the switch.

Hi @Brett Dev . I was working in a fully remote team as a software developer. Everyone worked from home in the UK. But it took 2.5 years until I had the courage to ask my boss to work from abroad. I needn't had worried, as he was absolutely fine with it. I just wish I'd asked sooner!

Remote software engineer and part-time digital nomad. Looking forward to meeting others who value location independence.
