Haven't seen much singing posts, but this time i share this song that is constantly in my set. The backing track its based and in the tonality of the original version by Celso Piña, kind of a bolero, with the intro melody, originally played by a trombone, and some guitar ideas taken from another version by Enrique Bunbury. It's a beautiful lyric with a even more beautiful harmony and i enjoy a lot playing it. Tell me what you think!... not about the bad singing, that i already know XD If somebody wants it, i can share the backing track recorded myself, playing all the instruments besides the percussion loop which is extracted from the Beat Buddy's library.
It’s nice singing, Mario. And I can feel how much you like to do it - and having fun 🤩 end to enjoy playing and singing 🎶 is the most important in my view. I like it 🤩
Hi guys. My first video submission here as I am as well a member of the JGA program from Marc. I took the opportunity and time to re-learn the Autumns Leaves Chords Melody arrangement of Marc. So this time I feel much more comfortable (would be bad if not….) than some months ago. Still room for improvement 😂 Let me know your thoughts……. https://youtu.be/zvWDWryhmNE?si=WqOOhl9KfWdRc0yD
@Joel Nelson hi Joel. Yes I like it very much - the design as well as the sound. It‘s a limited edition from the 140th anniversary of GRETSCH: https://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/edition/limited/g6136t-140-limited-edition-140th-double-platinum-falcon-with-string-thru-bigsby/2401514874 Luckily the exchange rate US Dollar - Swiss Franc is an advantage at the moment 😂

If you’re a guitarist and a lifelong lover of music looking to finally “crack” the jazz code, then continue reading… After helping 100s of students to make jazz guitar a walk in the park, and start improvising and comping convincingly… I was carefully documenting all the most common problems that they were experiencing… And based on that, I developed a step-by-step system that will without fail help people progress way faster with their jazz guitar playing, and avoid the most common pitfalls… I spent literally hundreds of hours just assembling the system in a document… And YEARS actually figuring it out… And, after keeping these secrets private for a few months… I decided to share it… I was thinking about the price it’s worth… But if you know me, you know that I’m not a huge advocate of selling information… In fact, I started to hate courses, memberships, and other crap. I can’t stand all the online gurus that are splitting hair, and not showing students how to play effing songs in the end… So even though this is much different and immensely more valuable than everything else… I decided to… Give it away. For free. $0. Why? You see… My belief is that every guitarist deserves to consistently see the progress in their playing… And be certain that he is practicing the right things that will eventually make him/her better… There isn’t a worse feeling than “running in place” for YEARS… And not having consistent progress and growth in proportion to the time that you put in… So I decided to give my best to help with that. And further on… I will start revealing all of my secrets for free. The first thing you’ll get is an extensive guide on how to improvise and comp on the jazz guitar CONVINCINGLY. If you would like to get it, just comment “guide” and I’ll personally send it to you.
Thank you to everyone who posted ''Blue Monk'', we had great takes and we all did a great job! As some of you got confused and started Blue Bossa in october, we decided to do it for november. As for last time, it's never too late to post ''autumn leaves'' or ''blue monk''. Once again the idea is to challenge yourself... ''you''. That could be playing a chord melody arrangement, comping, soloing, or playing the melody. Nothing is ''not enough''. When you post it, make sure to write ''november challenge'' in the title. Looking forward to hearing what you guys come up with!
Ok - great idea! I will record and send the chords melody of “Autumn Leaves” as I repeated a bit the JGA version of Marc the last few days. So I should be ready again 😃Blue Bossa will be totally new to me…. let’s see….
A couple of month ago i had posted that i was looking for an amp. I would like to thank everyone for their feedback. I finally decided to buy the Fender Tone master Deluxe Reverb. When i tried it with my guitar right next to the tube version i couldn't hear the difference. I'm so happy with my purchase. Hopefully you'll hear it soon... i just need to be able to play Donna Lee!
I really encourage everybody to post videos of them playing even if it's not perfect or if it's just the A section or whatever. We can help each other, that's why we're here. For those of us who aren't ready to post a video just yet, here's what i hope you'll do. Film yourself for yourself. In 3 months you'll be able to look back and see what improved and what you need to focus on. Always be nice to yourself, find 2 things you liked and 1 thing to work on for the next video. I didn't film myself before i started with Marc and i regret it because it would be nice to see what changed in the last 10 years or 20 or 30... at least now i get to see how i improve. You don't HAVE to but it's really worth it.
I would say everyone choses the way je want’s to play and is most comfortable for each song individually…. pick, fingers, hybrid ….. and I believe they all can sound amazing 🤩….
Hi everybody, i've been in the program for a year, i've learned so much, i'm happy to meet new fellow passionates. When i'm not learning jazz guitar, i'm teaching music in high school.
Hi MA Oh yes MA - you are a great (Jazz-) guitarist and your advices and comments on JGA are very useful and appreciated 😃 if I could go back I would choose a study program in music. So as you never can go back I just start now 🤣 as good as I can.
Hey! I’m a guitarist and trumpet player. I love jazz and want to get better every day. I’ll be starting as a college freshman this fall and hope to be in my schools jazz band. Exited, Tobias Villalovas
Welcome Tobias. Great 😊 I play guitar and trumpet too 😃 or better said… I played. Now relearn after 35 years of break… at the moment focusing on guitar 🎸 (trumpet is so hard to play again especially the high tones.. and needs regular practicing). So good luck for your band 😃
Hello all, I'm a classically trained guitarist from Pennsylvania who's only gotten into playing and studying jazz more recently. I've been a member of the Jazz Guitar Accelerator program since Nov 2022. Looking forward to meeting new folks and seeing this group expand.
Hi Jon - good to see here too 😃 yes, classically education helps for sure - unfortunately I had it for the trumpet and violoncello only - guitar I learned autodidactic (campfire and a bit of rock)…. the JGA program gives a boost now 😃
Hello Everyone! I am part of Jazz Guitar Accelerator alumni. There I learned a lot and had the opportunity to meet very kind and interesting people. Here I intend to keep on learning and meeting fellow musicians. Greetings from a life long music student.
