Why We're Starting Every Morning With Scripture
🥳 Mamas, I have to share something with you. This week I watched a video about how the words we speak over ourselves in the morning actually change what happens inside our brains. They showed the scans. Certain areas lit up when a person declared truth over their life instead of speaking fear and defeat. It stopped me in my tracks, because it is exactly what God's Word has been telling us all along. So starting this week, every morning inside The Peaceful Mama Collective, you are going to open your phone to a scripture affirmation. One verse. One declaration. Something true to plant in your heart before the world gets its hands on your day. Here is why I believe this matters so much. What the science actually says When researchers put people in brain scanners and had them affirm what they value most, the reward and self processing centers of the brain became more active, and the regions that fire off stress and threat quieted down. Speaking truth over yourself literally calms the alarm system God built into your body. And here is the part that gives me chills. Our brains are not fixed. Every thought we repeat carves a path, and the paths we travel most become the ones we take without even trying. If you rehearse worry every morning, you get very good at worrying. But if you rehearse who God says you are, that becomes the road your mind runs to on its own. I want to be honest with you though. This is not a trick, and it is not wishful thinking. The glowing pictures on the internet are just a way of showing which parts of the brain wake up. What makes a scripture affirmation different from a plain positive saying is the anchor. We are not repeating something we hope is true. We are agreeing out loud with what our God has already declared over us. The Word said it first Long before there were brain scanners, the Lord told us how this works. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. — Romans 12:2 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. — 2 Corinthians 10:5

💛 A Little Encouragement & Welcome Back, Peaceful Mama Collective 💛
I know it has been a little quiet in here, and I wanted to take a moment to reconnect with all of you. Life gets busy. Seasons change. Unexpected things come up. Sometimes we find ourselves pouring into one area while another area needs a little extra attention. Over the last little while, I’ve been working behind the scenes on the podcast, creating new resources, and preparing things that I pray will continue to encourage and equip this community. But I never want you to feel like you have to have everything perfectly balanced all the time because that’s not real life. This community was created to be a place of grace, growth, encouragement, and peace. Whether you are brand new here or you’ve been with me from the beginning, I want you to know you are welcome, valued, and prayed for. Remember: God is not asking us to do everything at once. He is asking us to be faithful with what He has placed in front of us today. ✨ “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1 So today, I’d love for you to check in below: Where are you joining from? What is one thing you are praying over in this season? What is one area where you need encouragement right now? I’m so thankful you are here. Let’s continue building a community of women who seek God first, love their families well, and create homes filled with His peace. 🤍 Welcome back, friends. I’m so glad you’re here.

Hey Amber, I finally got logged in. Glad to be hear. I’m from Greenville, SC. My biggest need for encouragement right now is to just keep showing up to work and trust God with each day. He knows what interruptions I will have before they come. I would appreciate prayers for my boy he was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and it has been a hard summer for our family. I think we are finally on the right track to get him health again, but it’s been hard. My oldest is due to have a baby August 14 and I want to be in Ohio for her, but I also have kids at home that will be starting school/homeschool and have big doctors appointments coming up.

I’ll share a recipe also, but I also wanted to share a few of my “eliminate the power struggle meals.” 1. Charcuterie/ home-made “lunchable”- something about the options. Put the ball in their court. Assortment of deli meats, cheeses, crackers, fruit, whatever you’d like. Set out on a platter or plate for kids to make their own plate. 2. Salad bar: lots of veggies, lettuce, dressings, maybe some grilled chicken. Again, something about letting kiddo make their own plate relieves the power struggle. More options the better. 3. Pancake tacos: idk about you, but I love me some breakfast for dinner. I make protein pancakes and have berries, bananas, peanut butter, honey, fresh whipped cream. I encourage them to try a few different combinations.

https://www.recipetineats.com/honey-garlic-chicken/#recipe This recipe is even better with chicken thighs. My kids love these. I often make with some spaghetti squash. For the spaghetti squash I poke holes all the way around and microwave for 3-5 minutes depending on the size. Then cut in half lengthwise to scoop out seeds. Drizzle with olive oil and generously salt and pepper. 425 degrees for 35-45 minutes depending on size. Then shred with fork and mix in some Boursin cheese.
