Wins
Team, I love hearing wins. They can be a subtle shift in mindset or something bigger. The key is that you're starting to think about what's possible and realize that you don't have to stay where you are. What are your wins so far this week? How can you encourage the rest of us?

Last week my win was realizing that my backpack was loaded down with self doubts and other self defeating behaviors that are holding me back. This week has been a challenge, as I've tried pulling those things out of my pack, and have found that they've melted together and cemented themselves to the bottom over the years of carrying this with me through all sorts of environments. They won't budge. I'm going to have to spend some time chipping away at this mess before I can even start preparing for my climb. That feels discouraging, but I refuse to haul all of this with me, and ditching the pack isn't a viable option. So, I suppose I've spent some time this week pouting about this realization, but nothing will change if I just keep sitting here feeling sorry for myself. It's time to break out the elbow grease!
Tomorrow's blog
I just scheduled tomorrow's blog on Substack. I updated one that I wrote in 2025 on 3 books that changed my life. I added a 4th. It happens to be one that @Lana Dinan and Grant are reading.

I have a few fiction books that have affected me deeply: To Kill A Mockingbird, The Secret Live of Bees, The Book Thief, and American Dirt. A couple of non-fiction books that also moved me are Alive and Unbroken.

"Massive action" noted. I'm on it!
It's Friday
Hey friends, thank you for being here. It's Friday, and it reminds me of the Loverboy song "Everybody's Working for the Weekend." I used to think weekends were for lounging and relaxing, and they are and should be to some degree. I used to start writing my blog and figuring out who I wanted to be beyond what I did for work on weekends. What is one new thing you're going to try this weekend that you've never done before? Every great adventure starts with one small step. Do it enough days in a row, and you won't recognize who you've become in six months.

I am going to say yes to a lunch date to discuss volunteering as a board member for a local non-profit that aligns with my passions... nature, education, and conservation.
I recorded a podcast today
I had the chance to do a live podcast earlier today with a gentleman from Pakistan. We started a little bit late because the weather was bad there, but here is the recording in case you would like to watch it: https://www.linkedin.com/events/7490833776999165952/?viewAsMember=true
