Barry Harris concepts
I'm just wondering how many here have worked with Barry Harris' concepts? I'm taking a free 6 week course with the heads off the Barry Harris Institute and it's eye opening. Looking for thoughts from everyone. Thanks.

I have listened to and tried many of his concepts on piano I think it is very good and logical Hard for me to grasp and develop "automatic recall" On scales I like what he does, going up one scale then down to the third of the next connecting scale, if I remember right, saxophonists and horn players I remember him drilling them on that If you can understand and implement I think it is high-level greatness

I wonder if he picked that up from classical music or maybe just from other players I think he played in clubs and was also a studio musician for years

Aunque no sea Conmigo ( which translates: Even if not with me)
Haven't seen much singing posts, but this time i share this song that is constantly in my set. The backing track its based and in the tonality of the original version by Celso Piña, kind of a bolero, with the intro melody, originally played by a trombone, and some guitar ideas taken from another version by Enrique Bunbury. It's a beautiful lyric with a even more beautiful harmony and i enjoy a lot playing it. Tell me what you think!... not about the bad singing, that i already know XD If somebody wants it, i can share the backing track recorded myself, playing all the instruments besides the percussion loop which is extracted from the Beat Buddy's library.

Billie's Bounce - Comping & Quick Improv
I've been trying to bump up the tempo a bit on these tunes. Here is some comping and off the cuff improv of Charlie Parker's tune. My previous phone went AWOL on a mountain bike ride. Here I'm testing out my new phone plugged into my audio interface. There seems to be a bit of lag, but the sound doesn't seem too bad. https://youtu.be/tLJQ5NooTu8?si=EpFcYdXf2ykGF9Sz
