Introductions
I am 36 years old. I’m an Army combat veteran, former AF aircraft mechanic, volunteer firefighter, part time bike mechanic, and have been working for myself in construction for 7 years. I have ALWAYS had an affinity for two wheels 🏍️ from the very first PW50 I ever got on, to the CBR1100xx Super Blackbird that sits in our shop. Something about this sport has always done it for me. I have passed this passion down to both my son and my daughter 11&9, who enjoy the sport regularly. I also love to impart my knowledge on people who want to learn something new.🧠 I know lots of other people enjoy the sport, but when it comes to life, not everybody has the time or money to spend on their hobbies like they’d like to. Our whole intent as a family is to educate people in their free time at home about doing their own preventative maintenance and intermediate maintenance on their own bikes with what the average person probably has laying around their garage or shed. We also intend to give some basic and intermediate riding tutorials. Save some of those pesky $100/hr dealer service fees for something you can diagnose and fix at home. Learn to ride and love the sport with us as we all grow. Not 100% on how all this works just yet, but I know everyone has their own life to live, so starting out we will probably do two live “classes” per week. The “curriculum” would be geared towards: -Basic Knowledge(how engines work, basic parts, etc) -Preventative maintenance(stopping problems before they happen) -Intermediate maintenance(carb rebuilds, top end rebuilds, muffler repacking, etc) -Beginner riding basis and techniques -Intermediate riding basics and techniques I am well versed in the subject material and have a full shop, lift, land to ride, etc to teach from. I know a lot of people are very hands-on learners. I am too.😂 so I would very much like to make this community as interactive as possible with Q&A, chats, video instructionals, and maybe even some light voluntary homework 💪🏼
