Decisions, Decisions
I’m going to be real with you… My version of “overthinking” isn’t that I don’t know what to do. It’s that I don’t want to limit my options (raise your hand if this is you too). I get excited about ideas.I can see 10 paths that could all work. And the second I choose one…it feels like I’m closing the door on the others. So what do I do? I keep thinking. I keep exploring. I keep “figuring it out.” And guess what that creates? Nothing. Just a brain full of possibilities…and zero forward movement. Here’s what’s actually happening: Your brain is wired to avoid loss. And when you don’t choose, your brain gets to keep all the options open. That feels safe. That feels exciting. But it’s a trap! Because while you’re protecting your options… you’re losing time, momentum, and progress. There’s neuroscience behind this: The brain experiences loss (even perceived loss, like “closing a door”) as a threat, so it keeps you in indecision to avoid that discomfort. Meanwhile—every open loop (every undecided path) keeps your brain activated and draining energy. So you feel busy… but stuck. Here’s the reframe I had to give myself this week: 👉 Choosing one path doesn’t eliminate the others forever👉 It just means “this is the one I’m testing right now” That’s it. You’re not getting married to the decision. You’re just moving forward. Because clarity doesn’t come from keeping all options open. It comes from choosing one… and seeing what happens. So here’s your move: Where are you keeping options open instead of moving forward? Pick one path. Not forever. Just for now. Then go. Drop it below if this hit 👇

Being a government program manager is my "JOB," but writing and e-commerce biz is what I pour my energy into. I am a creative and "maker" by nature.
