Real Talk for Admins: What Current Challenge Are You Facing as an Admin or Moderator?
Running an online community can be incredibly rewarding, and at times, surprisingly challenging. Whether it’s keeping engagement strong, managing member dynamics, balancing your time, or staying inspired, every admin faces their own unique set of hurdles. I’d love to hear from you: what’s the biggest challenge you’re currently navigating as a community admin or moderator? Sharing openly helps us all learn and support each other, and someone here might have just the insight or strategy you need. 💡

I’m an admin in several communities (paid and free) as well as a community owner with a community I expect to scale. Here are some observations from my nearly 6 months of experience (doesn’t sound like a lot but I have been carefully analyzing the process) Communities that scale fast without early Admin support end up burning out the owner. I can think of one example clearly where a very popular owner created a community that hinged on their daily participation (think: always there) and it was not sustainable. When they stopped posting as much the community started dying off. This is a pattern that has repeated across multiple communities and platforms. I’m seeing a clear path now that suggests that from the very beginning a support system is needed. The group norm needs to be: Owner, at least one admin, and as it scales up: One admin in at least 4 different time zones. The group norm should develop to include the admin/community managers being the primary people running the group and the owner not stuck in the day to day.

Keeping my group engaged while I’m away
Anyone else?
Okay so admittedly I had been inconsistent for a few weeks only making it in to the gym like once or twice a week (allergies were a killer this year). So as I make my way back I'm supposed to start at 70% and work my way up. Well... lol. Anyone else?
