Are the folks in Houston okay?
Good morning, I was watching the local NY news last night and learned about the tornado in Houston. I wanted to check in on Durrel and all of the others who live in Houston. Is everyone okay? Praying you are all safe this Thanksgiving Eve. Please let us know that you are safe. Kind regards, Tracy

Hi Tracy, it touched down about 40 minutes northwest of where we met during media day. No injuries, just a lot of damages. Texas is notorious for having tornadoes. I can't recall the many times my family had to sleep on the first floor, all in a central room because of tornado warnings. And, one time, I saw a tornado tunnel touching down in the distance while driving on the freeway. All the cars pulled over and hunkered down on the side of the road.

It’s common sense to expect the path before we take the first step, but life doesn’t work like a planned trip. Great things happen when we dare to step forward without certainty, because courage comes before clarity. @Vee Nguyen In the book "From Good to Great", Jim Collins describes the good companies, and the great companies. He studied over 1,400 companies and identified a small group (11) that made the leap from being good to great and sustained exceptional performance for at least 15 years. He contrasted these companies with “good” companies that never made the leap, even if they had similar opportunities. Jim found that great companies were led by leaders who combine deep personal humility (quiet, modest, even shy) with an intense, almost fierce determination to do what must be done for the company’s success. The research in this book backs your idea that leaders do not have to be loud as we typically think.
