Narration projects are particularly fun when the writing is excellent. I’m thoroughly enjoying @Laura Jo Brunson’s Thistle Nook Secrets. Well drawn characters and a great plot. Thank you, LJ! Finished five author interviews that will begin popping up starting this weekend including Kathleen Reidy, Jess Wright, Brian Turk, Mark Rasmussen and Parker Garrett. Posted @Lana McAra’s superb convo with Merl Davenport and finished pre-beta coding of my own version of Calendly. Went to the pumpkin patch with my beautiful granddaughter last night, followed by dinner and Dairy Queen. Join me today at 3 on Keener13.com as we countdown 18 faves from this week in 1971.

@Heidi Richards Mooney Juliette likes Dairy Queen. She gives me a gift card every Christmas so I’ll take her there :)

What are we doing up at this hour? ;)

Nerd stuff. I’m monitoring one of mu overnight shows on Keener13.com. It uses AI to create trivia and song descriptions for the virtual DJ and sometimes has a mind of its own. When it is perfected, I’ll have the entire overnight crew use it. It’s fun to look at the international listener map and see who is awaik at this hour. Not many but always interesting. The writer and my head builds imaginary reasons the are up and plots swirl around them. Yup, I am that kind of weird!

My marketing mantra is: "It's not the book. It's you." See above for @Lana McAra's wisdom. We gotta put our author brand out there and talk about something -besides- the book. The stories we write are resume items that value our broader personal brand. Welcome others into the craft. Share wisdom about the creative process. Encourage the world to stretch beyond self-imposed limitations. Leave every person you meet in a better place than you found them. The highest compliment I can get is, "I love the way I feel about me after being with you." Keep that in mind as you ponder how to frame what you've written within the context of your life's purpose. You will find your tribe and all of the joys (and challenges) that come with it.

What happens in Tulsa...
I left home on Friday at 10am headed to Jacksonville and my flight to Tulsa for the writers conference. I had a layover in Dallas, then 1 hour flight north to Tulsa, OK. When the plane landed, I turned on my phone and got a message that my flight from DFW to Tulsa was CANCELED. Can you believe that? I was stranded in Dallas. I did a Google Maps search and found out Tulsa is 4 hours from the Dallas airport, so I went on Expedia and rented a car. Before I left the plane, I had my car and went directly to pick it up. I had only carry-on luggage. Thank God! Hitting the interstate at 3pm in Dallas is no joke. I arrived in Tulsa at 9:30pm, passing 2 car accident slowdowns along the way. But I was THERE. Saturday was magical. Workshops were standing room only and so many great comments on the feedback sheets. I was fully booked for my author pitch sessions. I connected with the owner of an app that helps fiction authors visualize their story. He wants to partner with me to send us authors when they are ready to publish. He has 60,000 subscribers. Those connections are my primary reason for going to these events. As a bonus, I sold ONE BOOK. LOL NEVER WILL I FLY AMERICAN AGAIN, BTW.

We are frequent Delta fliers. They seem to get it right most of the time. Thrilled that you had such a productive weekend!
