Stephen’s compliance presentation from today
Slide 1 — How to Craft a Powerful Compliant Zinzino Testimonial Personal • Ethical • Effective • Shareable Write it down 45-60 seconds is best… then listen! Slide 2 — Why Testimonials Go Wrong 90% of compliance problems happen here • Personal health stories • Unintentional disease claims • “I didn’t know I crossed a line” Key takeaway: Good intentions ≠ compliant language Slide 3 — The Regulatory Reality • FDA & FTC strictly regulate what you say • Disease claims include: o Diagnosing o Treating o Preventing o Curing • The definition of a “disease claim” is very broad If it sounds medical, it probably is Slide 4 — The “Felt / Found / Feel” Framework This framework can work — if used carefully ❌ Non-compliant example: “I had chronic pain in my shoulder. I tried everything. Now I’m pain-free.” ✔ FDA interpretation: Treatment of arthritis Slide 5 — Making It Compliant What would make it compliant? ✔ Avoid disease terms ✔ Avoid “pain” ✔ Avoid “chronic” ✔ Compliant example: “After a car accident, I healed pretty well, but I just didn’t feel right. Discomfort in my neck and back limited my range of motion. After 120 days using Balance Oil, I feel so much better.” Words matter. A lot. Slide 6 — Words to Avoid (Common Traps) • Pain (outside exercise context) • Chronic • Arthritis • Inflammation as a disease • Gluten intolerance • Near-sightedness ❌ “I don’t wear my glasses anymore” = Treatment of vision disorders Slide 7 — Inflammation: Use with Care Important clarification • Inflammation can be discussed as a structure & function process • Not as a disease or treatment claim ✔ Safe framing: • Inflammation is part of normal immune response • It helps protect us from injury and infection Slide 8 — Visible vs Silent Inflammation What you can say • Some inflammation is obvious (injury, infection) • Some inflammation is silent • Silent inflammation is widely studied as a risk factor ✔ Educational, not therapeutic
