@Emily Abbott Puerto Rico has one of the longest Christmas of the world!! Our holidays begin on Christmas Eve and end the 2nd or 3rd week of January, with a huge feast in Old San Juan called “La fiesta de las calles de San Sebastián”(something like “the party of Saint Sebastián Street”). It is a festival that is visited by people from around the world, where there is music, dancing, food, and local artists’ exhibitions. Before that, we usually get together with family and friends to celebrate Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Three Kings Day (strong tradition in PR). Christmas time is a very happy time in PR. We exchange gifts on Christmas Day and on Three Kings Day, after children have left grass in a shoebox and water for the camels by the tree the night before. It’s a beautiful tradition.
