@Brooke Thomas I’m so sorry, I thought I’d replied to this. It was multiple stages really. It all started with the foundations, settling my nervous system down. Once I’d got myself stronger there, that’s when I started exposure therapy and EMDR. I plan to make a course for each step of the way over time

@Brooke Thomas it all started with getting the foundations set. The stuff in this course is how I did that. Lots of grounding work and meditation. Reworking my initial reactions to triggers and how I acted after one. Learning not to become frustrated was probably the hardest part for me. That typical “I’m going to smash this” attitude was my go to… but it meant that when I struggled, I beat myself up. It became a huge snowball of worry and disappointment for me. It wasn’t until I was finally able to relax a little that it started to be a less prominent thing in my mind… but that came with practice. The only way to do it is through dedication. I saw it as if I had to go on a really long and difficult course. Some people go to university… well I was going to the “get your life back” department. My advice would be to go through the videos on this course and just let it sink in, and then notice when you recognise something happening that o mention in the videos. Recognise it, and just acknowledge it, then move on. I’m always happy to answer questions so please don’t hesitate to ask more 🙂
