Welcome welcome welcome! (Longer read, but I promise it's worth it!) If you just moved here... you made a killer move! If you've been here for a while... you might be able to suggest some stuff I forgot or didn't know about! No matter what... I need your help Because I've been working on this for a while now! (and by a while, I mean weeks, maybe even months if you count the lists Courtney and I have been making of our favorite restaurants lol) The goal here is to create a place that's ACTUALLY social... not this freaking social media crap, where I post a video of the truck show we just went to so that you can save it and hopefully remember next year when it comes back. Today I'm launching "Life in Boise" to be a SOCIAL group A group for people who want to find a community beyond their computers (yeah, I see the irony of starting something on my computer to get me off my computer... but what's life without a little confusion) That means I need y'alls support! - I need you to add recommendations that I missed - I need you to answer questions you see even if you think someone else might have a better answer - I want to see people planning get togethers at Freedom Park, and riding dirt bikes in the Owyhees I'm starting this group because I started noticing a pattern... So many people are moving to Idaho (last I checked, almost 60% of the state were transplants) that some people are waiting for a "welcoming committee" for lack of a better term that never comes because people are moving in at such a high rate that they get lost in the mix. The goal here is to BE that welcoming committee. I'm going to try and welcome you, give you recommendations, and my hope is that you'll be the welcoming committee for someone else... (WE CAN BUILD COMMUNITY ONE PERSON AT A TIME!) Sidenote I thought of as I'm writing this: I'm gonna be straight up with you... if you're moving to Boise, you're gonna run into losers online who are unhappy with their life and want to blame the people moving here for that... The thing about them though... they stay online. I've never once run into someone who's like that in real life. That behavior will also not be tolerated here. This group is for people who want to enjoy Boise, not complain about it.
