Do the magic spell with me!
This is from my book Adventures with the Universe. 1. Write out 10 things you're grateful for and why 2. 10 things you love 3. Feel the feelings 4. Describe your desires: list what you want and use the good feelings to imagine having it 5. Put the paper in a box. It is now the job of the universe (and your unconscious mind). One day you will open the box to find it's done or you changed your mind to prefer something else

Let's do it! I'm in the mood for some magic today! 😁
Meta ads are screwed up again - Info video link included
Hey everyone. There was a pretty horrifying budget-consuming change made to FB ads a few days ago. It's not only the budget consumption that's an issue, but newly added placements that are on by default and difficult to find and turn off if you don't know where to look. Our books could potentially be advertised on sociopolitical and news posts, plus more. Melissa Storm made a quick video about the details of this and showed how we can turn it off. It needs to be done to every individual ad right now, unfortunately. (I'm not associated with Melissa, I just respect her content.) https://marketwithmelissa.substack.com/p/meta-ad-placements-broken

Thanks for sharing, Raven! Gosh, there's always something, right? I seriously need to build a step by step Facebook Ad SOP with a checklist and update the doc as these things go! #onmytodolist

Reaching a new audience
Seeking input on gaining new readers organically when money is short and ads aren't possible. I am expanding outside of omegaverse, and my current readership is not having it. They only want or care about OV. I thought paranormal, monster, and fantasy romance titles would fit well under this pen name so I didn't need to make another (I already struggle with MPD from all my names). However, the one PNR novella I released last month sold abysmally and hardly received any interactions in my NL or socials, and my follow-up novella trilogy is looking rough for preorders. (I'm talking 7 preorders vs. 200+ on any OV title) I know the answer is to garner more readers who are fans of these other subgenres. I've seen several authors who write a lot of omegaverse successfully release other subgenres under the same name, but I don't know them personally to ask about how they expanded their audience. There may not be any easy answer here, and that's okay! I'm just looking for ideas and input from anyone willing to help 💜 TYIA! Edit: P.S. I hope this makes sense. I just got out of the hospital yesterday, and my brain is still really foggy and exhausted.

@Lee Savino If you have no rep and in a new genre, would suggest starting a promo or joining one or both? (and sending a note to the person that set it up if you have no rep).

I attended a workshop a while back where they said online static posts are for your following and reels are for finding new readers, and you should balance 30% 70% on this. 🤷‍♀️👩‍💻🥷🧑‍🎓🧑‍🌾🧑‍🚀🧑‍🎨 Not even emojis can express the hats we wear. 😂
Do you sabotage yourself?
I've been rereading the Big Leap and he talks about how we all have an upper limit, the high end of our comfort zone where we might sabotage ourselves before ascending it. I'm curious if you've noticed this in your own life. I definitely hit one in 2022. Some of it was burn out--I didn't allow myself enough rest and fun to recooperate. And I once left a room of very successful authors, telling myself I did belong (even though I did!). And I see how I avoid being more visible on social media--there's some visibility I allow but I tend to control it. Denise DT talks about how some people get sick before launches, or don't allow themselves to launch at all! Or spend their money as fast as they make it, or give their money away or feel guilty about saving it. Or avoid doing the things that would make them successful, like marketing (I've done this too!). Think of a time you had some break out success or momentum and notice how you behaved. Did you celebrate? Allow yourself to rest? Or did you go out and wreck your car (I had an entrepreneurial ex-boyfriend who did this every time business went well)? No judgement, just notice! How do you sabotage yourself when reaching your upper limit?

It's never as bad as it is in our head.

@Lee Savino Yeah, I think that's key! Thank you! I haven't thought deeply (brainstormed) this. If I'm spiraling, my systems aren't sustainable. And I know you've been talking about this with email and marketing, but life systems also matter. 🤗
