Failed rehoming post fostering. We need to remember Cattle dogs generally bond with only one person, and that one person is of their choosing. When bonded they take loyalty to a level above that you have ever known. In regard to protection, they have a level that many new people new to the breed have never seen and as a result label them as a rebellious and aggressive to even dangerous. I continue to work at laying the labels to rest through education in Cattle dog temperament.

I was reading a post on FB this morning about a foster placement transport that quickly headed south because of lack of information about the dog's current history and knowing the difference between being scared or being an aggressive dog. This goes right back to what I have been preaching about heelers' temperaments and behaviors and the lack of people truly not understanding them. It's not hard to learn their temperaments. It's not hard to know their reactions to stress. More than one heeler has gotten the death sentence over misunderstanding while being scared vs aggressive. As breeders it's our responsibility to educate our buyers in general temperaments and scared behaviors. I am always available to answer questions and if I can't research the question till I do find the answer.

Yes solar storms can cause temporary behavioral changes where reactions are due to a dog's sensitivity to changes in light, atmospheric pressure, and the Earth's magnetic fields. A dog may become anxious, with increased barking, howling and panting. Solar flares could potentially trigger seizures in dogs with epilepsy. Providing a quiet environment with minimal visual stimulation, as well as keeping the area familiar and comfortable. You can decrease seizure activity. Avoid punishing your dog for any anxiety-related behaviors.
