Western dressing
Several have never heard of Western dressing. A family favorite available at Walmart https://www.walmart.com/ip/55500600?sid=A48A143F-EB3B-48ED-ADE5-B16E669AD699

What is the flavor profile? I am not a fan of French style dressings.
Salad Jar
Ever made a salad in a jar? Very portable and makes a great make ahead meal. I made my wife and I a salad last night for our lunch today. Here’s how I did it. You start with what you want on top so when you put it onto a plate or in a bowl it comes out correctly. Tomatoes Diced Feta cheese cheese crumbles Bacon bits Diced ham Carrots Yellow pepper Celery Cucumber Chopped green leaf lettuce on top Put a lid on it and refrigerate. I put mine in a bowl and served with Western dressing. So good!!

I have seen these some put dressing on bottom others keep it separate, what is best way to pack it so it doesn't get soggy or wilty?
WHAT’S YOUR SECRET TO NOT SPEND TOO MUCH?
I’m new here, and I really appreciate the focus on making the most of what you have. There’s something powerful about cooking with creativity and intention — turning simple, affordable ingredients into something genuinely satisfying. It also makes me think about how much skill and story sit behind everyday meals like these. I write about food, so going to have a careful look around the classroom! 😎

I keep multi use staples, things like rice and pasta, other noodles. I buy multiple proteins when on sale, section them into multiple portion season each differently then just pull one from freezer, and change up starch and vegetables
Requests?
We have shared a lot of recipes and ideas. I want to know what you would like to know about. What is your request?? How to make bread? How to cut up a whole chicken? How to steam vegetables? Please tell me.

Can you maybe show different recipes using a rice cooker for meals other than rice?
Lunch under $3
I was hungry today and I’m trying to make better choices. No sugar and Whole Foods. What did I have in the refrigerator? Small head of cabbage, I love cabbage any way you fix it. What else do I have? Sam’s all beef hotdogs. 🤔 I love stir fry cabbage. I cut my 2 hotdogs into bite size pieces. I cut up about 1/2 of a small cabbage. Heat my skillet on medium high and cook till brown on both sides. Add 1 T butter and a bit of water then add cabbage. Let it steam and then sauté it all together. Hot Dogs are 1.08 each. Cabbage .79 lb, it was very little. $2.95 lunch.
