Hello, My name is Sylwester. I’ve been playing guitar for more than 25 years, with some breaks, but I’m still not at the level I’d like to be. I mostly play for myself. I’m trying to improve my technique so I can play songs by Satriani, Vai, and Petrucci. In the past, I subscribed to a couple of different online teachers. Right now, I’m practicing using material from Chris Brooks’ Guitar Technique Practice Collection book. I’ve just finished the intermediate level for the second time and started the first week of the advanced bootcamp. I’m here because I was searching on YouTube for a good explanation of muting technique during sweep picking, and I came across Jon’s channel, which somehow resonated with me. I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for, but I watched a few videos and decided to give it a try anyway. (I was specifically looking for right‑hand thumb muting when sweep picking - I learned this years ago, but I still sometimes get harmonics instead of muted strings). Anyway, I’ll try to complement Chris Brooks’ advanced bootcamp exercises with Jon’s material.
