@Serenity Pickles It is a Nordic based story set in a land called Sedarkia. (Sidebar: Sedarkians are basically the equiavalent of Vikings) The Chief of Sedarkia is a man named Zander Hvalman. When his only son, Owain, converts to Christianity, Zander believes he has no other choice than to disinherit him and Owain flees. (Another sidebar: The way the Sedarkian government works is that if the current Chief does not have an eligible heir - ie like Owain since he has been disinherited - he puts a challenge, or "claim" in place. It's basically a competition where whoever wins gets to be the next Chief) Torryn Velgard and his brother Ivor are smugglers (I'm still working out exactly what they do, but think more of smuggling people out - like in the Scarlet Pimpernel if you've heard of that). Torryn is the first one to hear the terms of the claim and he sets off to fulfill it...by tracking down Owain and making sure he is never able to try and wrest the leadership from his father. Owain, Torryn, Ivor, and Zander must all sooner or later come face to face with a new power that is sweeping the land like a wildfire - Christianity. They must make a choice to accept it and the persecution that comes with it or reject it to climb the ladder of their own personal ambition. Sorry if that was a bit discombobulated. I don't have an official synopsis for my book yet! Basically, I want to show what an impact the light of Christianity had on the spiritually dark culture at that time in a story that explores the cost of Christianity and forgiving one’s enemies while featuring redemption arcs, storms at sea, and a protective older brother/reckless younger brother duo. So yeah, there you have it :)

@Serenity Pickles thanks for taking the time to respond! I'm glad you're feeling better! 💖 I will should clarify when I say "Viking"....it's not historical fiction, it's a fantasy culture loosely based on Viking/Nordic culture. Technically I am working on the second draft....only because the first draft has a lot of this: *add some more scenes here* *something something something* *insert dialogue here* So I am fixing those up before I send it out to anyone :) When I send it to you, it will not have gone through a professional editor, although it will later! When I send you the document, I will probably send a list of any questions I have as well! As for email, since I don't usually put it out for everyone to see (lol) you can reach me by shooting me an email through the "Contact Me" form on my website (storiesoffaithfulness.com) I should have the second draft finished by the end of this month?!? (We'll see....) :) Anyway, thank you for doing this! I can't wait to get started - this has been my "heart project" for awhile now and I'm quite excited about it, to say the least !! 🙃🫠
