Day 7 Check In - Major Aha
Had a major aha moment today — I’ve been talking to the wrong people.' Which I've kind of known but not known what to do about it and I believe I do know what to do today. (Open to suggestions) Most of my Facebook friends are W2 employees. While many are kind and say they’d refer me, they rarely cross paths with someone who’s actually looking to buy or sell. That explains why my past events “failed” to generate referrals — I was marketing to a supportive audience, not a connected one. I also realized that when I used to interview local business owners for my podcast, I kept those connections too shallow. I never developed real partnerships — I just hoped one of them might randomly need to sell their home. Moving forward, I’m shifting focus from casual connections to strategic relationships. I can keep engaging my Facebook network for consistency, but it’s time to go deeper with local business owners and intentionally build referral partnerships with people who are actually in contact with my ideal clients. This feels like the clarity I’ve been missing — not more work, just better direction. It doesn’t solve the immediate business problem, so I’m praying that the seeds I’ve planted — through my Facebook ads and Marketplace listings — produce a few quick wins while I rebuild my referral base the right way.
