This is something I’ve been processing and working through with ChatGPT. It flows from the realization that we spend too much time and energy editing our words, filtering ourselves, polishing our voices and image and brands to the point that we become palatable but powerless. Here’s the “manifesto” that came out of my processing: The Unedited Manifesto This is the message that will set women free. Not just writers—women. Not for bliss’ sake alone, but for freedom’s sake. The more we self-edit, self-erase, and self-censor, the less able we are to actually help the hurting. The less able we are to bring the solutions and strategies the world needs. The church needs. The people in our own lives need. The deep wounds and wanderings of the human heart will never be healed by safe sentences. They will never be transformed by “nice” words. They will never be revived by palatable, powerless fluff. The more we trim off the edges, the more we cut out the truth. And so I say— Write it. Say it. Let it burn in your chest until it moves through your fingers. Because your unedited truth is not careless—it is care-full. It is full of care for the woman at the kitchen table. For the one walking into church wondering if God sees her. For the one scrolling at midnight, praying someone will speak to what’s really going on in her life. This unedited, unapologetic voice is not just for your pleasure or processing. It is purposeful. It is prophetic. It is the bridge between your private breakthrough and someone else’s public freedom. So let’s stop thinking we have to become something else before we share what’s burning in us. Let’s stop feeding the world skim milk and start serving the feast God put on our table. We are not here to tickle ears. We are here to tell the truth. I’m here for it; are you? Sue
