The Death of "Correct" Biomechanics
This video by Kathy Sierra is amazing at debunking the myth of "correct" biomechanics. What she talks about can be applied to ANY domain. Also, I had the pleasure of chatting with her on my podcast The Unfinished Podcast.

What a fantastic speaker! That's some pretty dry stuff and she held my attention really strongly.
Question...
What do you think is the biggest misconception about learning a skill is?

That "bad" reps ingrain bad skills.
First Attune Challenge
Pick a skill you’re working on or want to learn. Write down the conditions you typically practice in. Now write down the conditions you’ll perform in. How big is the gap? What’s one constraint you could add to close it?

In fencing, I have a stylistic tendency to use a retreat or a single time (attack and defend in one motion) type of defence. There is nothing wrong with this inherently, but as I get older, I need to reduce my reliance on foot movement and increase my ability to parry and strike back in 2 motions. The 2 motion action is more secure than the counterattack. Right now I'm doing this by making myself play a game I'm not good at more often in freeplay. I'm pushing close to my opponent without attacking and with a line open that I'm ready to close. I'm better at it than I hoped I'd be, but my best students are hitting me more often than usual. Investing in loss is never easy.
Community Question
Attune Tribe, I am in the midst of creating a website for Attune. This has been a fun little project that I have been working on, so when that is somewhat done, you all will be first to know of it. Otherwise, I want to know what kind of events would you like to see in 2026? Live Q&A's, Guest Speakers, Workshops, Cohorts, etc.? Leave a comment below on what you need and what will bring value to the tribe.

Interviews with as many coaches as possible looking at as many different sports as possible including individual sports, with the subject matter being the journey from rote coaching to Eco.
Quick Question
Quick question for everyone: What’s the ONE skill you’re currently trying to improve? Drop it below—I want to know what domains we’re all working in.

Historical European Martial Arts. I'm trying to balance having the fencing look like the plates in the book (which is inherent to HEMA) whilst balancing that with letting people develop their own games and solve problems. It's hard.
