This is how I nearly doubled my Q1 revenue, while working less hours 💰
Q1 is officially in the books and now it's time to hand over all the admin stuff to my accountant to fill in my tax forms. As I was comparing my landscaping business revenue for Q1 in 2026 to that of Q1 in 2025 some things stood out immediately. 1. I have nearly doubled my revenue (20K -> 35K). 2. While working way less hours in my landscaping business, because I've been more focused on building my community over the winter. 3. The number of outgoing invoices was practically the same (24 -> 25). So I didn't do a higher volume of jobs. The jobs I did became more valuable. I added a screenshot from my CRM tool so you know I'm not making this up haha! 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 "𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗜 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁?" Since the big focus during Q1 was on building my community, I had to protect my time better than ever before. ❌ I stopped saying "Yes" to any job that would bring in cash. ❌ I stopped overcommitting myself. Working 60+ hours a week doing the work and having to do all the admin stuff in the early morning, using time I want to spend building my community. ❌ I stopped committing to jobs that didn't excite me. ❌ I stopped undervaluing myself and my services. ✅ I became more intentional about which jobs I accepted. I said "No" to any jobs that weren't high leverage. ✅ I only accepted jobs that I felt excited about. I would much rather stay home and work on building my Skool than doing landscaping work that didn't excite me. ✅ I worked less "IN the business" and more "ON the business". Staying home more often meant that I finished price quotes a lot quicker and so I closed more deals. ✅ I raised my prices and profit margins. I know my worth and the value I bring and if someone doesn't want to pay that, that's totally fine. It leaves more time for the clients that do appreciate my value, and I get to do an even better job because I'm not time - restricted I hope this helps and shows you that scaling your business isn't about working more hours!
