Was watching your recent video on the Skinny Dipper. I’ve had good success fishing that dipper pre spawn but hadn’t had as much success post spawn/ early summer. I’m usually fishing this thing real slow with just a hook in pre spawn. When your fishing with the small slip sinker on front are you fishing it some faster in the 1-3’ depths ? Is it the speed with the weight that is making this better in the post spawn/summer in your opinion? I need to get better dialed into this when the fish are eating the Toad on top & then that bite dies off. Thanks for your input

Summer, most of the time, means tricking bass who are pressured and don’t need to eat.

With many different jig head styles to choose from, it makes fishing too complicated. Jig fishing will always be about patience and confidence, not complexity. If I could go back in time, all purpose would be my main concern - the same jig for swimming and flipping.

Welcome back. I fished a couple BFL tournaments on Guntersville the first week of the month (because of a make up), learned a lot. Even in the colder months, a jig you fish on the bottom might not be the slow technique you thought. The right size/type jig paired with two cold water modifications, fished the correct way is your best chance at a fish of a lifetime this Winter.
