Unfortunately, coaching high school girls basketball for 17 years I have been on the court and seen too many ACL injuries. Oldest daughter tore both, once in 8th grade and the other in 10th grade. Now my other daughter has tore hers in senior year, with 30 days left of season. 3 year starter and many records, plans to play in college,, it hits hard as a coach and parent. I know she will be good and already has a great attitude, but the mental side for everyone involved is difficult. How do you comfort and explain all will be well again? to teammates / parents A habitual weight room warrior, always dynamic warm ups, barely made contact with opponent and went down . Those that have been in games and experienced it know how silent a full gym gets with the only sound is the player crying out loud in pain. Sorry to post a topic like this, I would rather read/talk about in game adjustments to LL, but if anyone had helpful ideas or suggestions I know this community would be the place to go to...
