So that text idea was very fruitful! I sent out 382 texts. Took about 20 minutes to send them all. I didn't receive any negative replies or "please remove me" texts but I did receive a bunch of bounce backs, "it's good to hear from you but we're attending another church" or "we've moved." Things like that which are helpful for cleaning up our list. But the real magic was in the responses to my question "do you have anyone you're inviting that I can pray for?". I've received 80 names of people to pray for and the reply rate was very high with a 50 responses (13% reply rate!) It also opened up some back and forth conversations and reconnected people I hadn't heard from in awhile. Be ready to invest a little time, though, as the response texts took about 1 1/2 hours to read and reply! I highly recommend giving it a try!
